I don’t see how anyone paying attention to the elections last year thinks America is a remotely fair democracy.

The barriers to entry for third parties are incalculably more extreme than even an outright communist running in a Democratic primary. It doesn't help that no one who pines for leftist third parties is actually doing anything to make them happen... with the only exception I can think of being the WFP, who aren't far left, but are certainly better than average Democrats.
