Sitcoms are not good or bad, they're just a television format. They are deceptively hard to make, especially what we know of the classic sitcoms: you only need to create a comedy engine that will pump out multiple seasons for years and years. Great writing can fumble with bad casting, and workman-like stuff can shine when made by great actors.
