Lol that's amazing. I've never been to Bushmills but hope to someday, and I also want to go to Midleton (Jameson, Redbreast, Power's, etc.)

Seen plenty of Scotch distilleries though. Whisk(e)y has something magical.

I went on a road trip through Scotland with a good friend and we visited 18 distilleries in 14 days.

We alternated days being the designated driver, and it would suuuuuck not being able to join in tastings. But most distilleries offer a "Driver's kit" to take home consisting of some sample bottles and a wee tiny funnel to pour the drams in.

I eat meat but hate to waste food in general and meat especially. Yesterday evening I fried up 6 small sausages for dinner, ended up eating 4 of them so I had two leftovers. I forgot to put them into the fridge and left them out overnight, so I chucked them this morning, and I feel kinda bad about that.

And then something like this comes along.

At least you know you don't have rats, because they would have eaten the sausages.

The worst pests I get in my apartment are silverfish, not too bad thankfully.

quick food safety check: I would have eaten cooked sausages the next morning, depending on the type, but I would definitely have pitched any raw sausages that stayed out that long.

my food safety standards about cross-contamination are rigid, but my food safety standards about refrigeration are really loving lax. I never get sick, though.

You're right, they'd probably have been fine.

Do you do these kinds of art projects more often?

Yeah maybe the Harry Potter Land in Orlando isn't the best place to get a proper English breakfast.

The worst one I've ever had was on the Hoek van Holland - Harwich ferry. Instead of fried tomato they had canned tomato warmed up in a rechaud. That sort of set the tone for the rest of the meal.

Honestly I think the best country for consistency of high chip quality is Belgium, or the Netherlands as a runner up. Yes they call them fries but they're closer in size and texture to chips, and seem to be much crunchier as standard than your bog standard chippy in the UK. [...] I particularly enjoy how they view mayonnaise as a sauce rather than a condiment.

I am Dutch and I support this statement.

The reason chippy chips suck is because iirc they are only once fried. Belgian and Dutch fries are always, always fried twice. Even the made from scratch places fry them twice.

A coke isn't a 1000 calories. Are you drinking it by the gallon?
