I agree with it being "tiring" due to being all gameplay with little downtime. I also feel that the fights kind of suffer, either they're super easy or super hard with very little middle, I guess thats all of SMT though lol. I was kind of meh on it, but now I've started the road trip part and I think it's super cool. The only thing is I constantly wish it was P4's cast rather than P5. I just didnt really connect with the cast in P5 that much, or the central conceit of the world (metaverse, stealing hearts, phantom thieves). So far, I am liking yusuke and haru a lot more than p5. Maybe as the game goes on I'll get more connected to them. I'll also agree with the guy above me. I wish it was just a standard turn based rpg or a musou. I feel like the half and half nature doesn't really help it.

Morpheus posted:Ugh the part of the game when you go to the beach at Okinawa (the fourth jail town, spoilered just to be safe) got me realizing how much this whole 'road trip with friends, hanging out eating delicious food and stuff' plot has me seriously missing doing that this past year. Uggggh. Yeah, to me this is the best part of the game by far. Going to towns and seeing the sights, hanging out with bros. the plot/gameplay are auxiliary. Perfect timing but also sad

THE AWESOME GHOST posted:Also is it just me or is the translation / writing in this game so far way better than Persona 5? I didn’t play Royal which apparently was better but the base game often felt like it had lines they just forgot to translate A bit late but I totally agree, overall the characters have much more unique voices and I can't remember a single awkward line, as opposed to P5 where so many scenes were marred by awkward dialogue
