In the wake of the GOP in Georgia getting owned at the federal level, their salty asses are gonna make it more annoying to vote with a new bill they've passed

quote:

-Limits Sunday voting to one optional Sunday in each county
-Reduces ballot drop boxes by requiring them to be located inside early voting locations
-Requires a driver’s license number, state ID number or copy of photo ID to vote absentee
-Sets a deadline to request absentee ballots 11 days before election day
-Disqualifies provisional ballots cast in the wrong precinct
-Bans outside funding of elections from nonprofit organizations
-Prohibits governments from mailing unsolicited absentee ballot applications
-Creates instant-runoff voting for military and overseas voters
-Schedules runoffs four weeks after election day rather than the current nine weeks
-Prevents free food and drinks for voters waiting in line to vote
-Restricts early voting buses to emergencies

Even worse than the above, the GA Senate is pondering adding on to that list by restricting absentee voting to 65+, Disabled, or out of town, when it used to be you could just get one by filling out a thing online or sending in a request.

I'm more willing to believe that enough democrats in congress are gonna own goal themselves between now and then that enough people pulling the lever for blue shrug and embrace accelerationism and the seething mass of rage known as conservatives turn out in force to get rid of the commie socialists, and at the very least Warnock loses his seat to this.

I'd also like to point out, Warnock won by less than 90k and over performed prior democrat candidates by a large margin. Georgia has basically already passed a full suite of voter suppression laws targeting people who would vote for him in 2022. So unless the Republicans runs someone really divisive, by republican standards I don't see Warnock retaining barring Democrats delivering actual tangible reforms and poo poo that people know is good and doesn't require some college nerd going "well you see this is good because means testing and marginal tax bracket and blahblahblah".

The American Recovery Act 2009 was a 830b[1t today] stimulus package passed in January 09 and the ACA was signed March 2010. The democrats got murdered in the house losing 60 seats by November 2010, and would get thrown out of the senate during the next round of elections.

Just got #1 today and the mass part of it felt weird walking through the lines at the local fairgrounds.

Probably better than my experience yesterday. Got an appointment at the pharmacy down the street because I sat up the night before refreshing the online appointment thing. Got one for about 5:30, thing said to arrive 15 minutes early, and to print and fill out a questionnaire thing. Arrived 30 minutes early, sat in line for an hour because the same line was handling both vaccine check ins and regular pharmacy things, handed them the online questionnaire thing I printed out that morning, got told the thing had a few missing questions and I would have to fill out the same packet with two questions added. Posted up against a wall and did it quickly, handed it back, got told there was four people in front of me, and it really shouldn't be more than fifteen minutes. Thirty minutes go by and a dude who looked like he had either a spine or leg issue gets up to the desk and tells the pharmacy his pain meds weren't working and he'd needed better ones. The pharmacists said they weren't allowed to prescribe meds, and he'd have to get his doctor to call it in. This developed into cursing and screaming and security dragging the dude out. It is now 7:00 and I start to feel the need to take a piss, I ask the pharmacy if there was a bathroom I could use, apparently its employee's only, and if I left the pharmacy and got called I may lose my spot for the day, and besides it shouldn't be too much longer. 8:00 rolls around and my bladder feels like its going to burst when they call me up, I get my shot, they tell me to hang around for ten minutes and I said I'd be right back and go piss in the parking lot.

tl:dr, mass sites are probably a better experience than a pharmacy no matter how conveniently placed the pharmacy maybe.
