Actually addressing sleep deprivation in the military would require treating service members time as something other than expendable. The military certainly won't do anything to fix it. "You know what you signed up for!"

This is my view too. This is the same backwards island nation responsible for BREXIT and Boris Johnson after all.

I hope that's the WH response to all dumb rear end culture war bullshit. "Who gives a gently caress?"

It's going to be interesting to see what the long term implications are and how they impact American's view towards "socialist" policies. By the time the 2022 elections roll around a huge amount of Americans will have received various amounts of money from the government.

I'm pretty optimistic all things considered.

Is there really? Just as many? Last time I checked a solid majority of the country supports this stimulus package.

I find it hard to view this as anything other then a solid win for Democrats.

Why would they do that? Shouldn't those same Democrats have let the GOP negotiate them down from $1.9 trillion?

Why would they not campaign on the success of this stimulus?

And that seething mass of conservative rage did turn out to vote in force and lost the presidency and the senate despite their record setting turnout.

Why not? Those GOP voters turned out for Trump, they didn't show up in 2018.

Between the Democrats and the GOP if I were a politician I would quite obviously prefer to be in the Democrats position going into 2022.

Especially if the economy is in a good position due to the stimulus and more people being vaccinated.

What narrative does the GOP have? They've been moaning about Dr. Seuss and Lola Bunny for fucks sake.

They don't even have token policies to offer up in contrast to the Democrat's, all they have is the Culture War.

So what's the basis for thinking Biden's stimulus won't change anything? I have a hard time believing it won't have any impact at all on the way American's view social welfare programs, especially with the huge amount of families that are going to be getting money every month for each of their children. Literally not a single Republican voted for it which I think is going to be difficult to fend off come 2022.

I just don't find the doomposting to be particularly compelling in this case.

Sure, and it lost them the House, the Presidency and the Senate.

This is a hugely popular bill and Schumer himself has said Democrats are going to campaign on extending some of it's benefits in 2022.

So what else do you have?

Ok, sure. So you think this bill have absolutely no impact on anything whatsoever? Why?

And I haven't cheered one anyone nor I did I ever claim it was the perfect bill that fixes all of our problems. All I said is that I think it's going to change the way American's view things like social welfare.
