I agree the early part could have breathed a little more, but i think since the understanding of the creatures shifts slowly over the book it was a good place to start

Having finished it, there was a chapter near the end that felt a little cribbed from WWZ and I found the climax to be a bit muddled. I like it a little less, but it's probably the most I've enjoyed a book in a while.

What I don't understand is did Order have any kind of plan to stop himself and his compatriots from banishing themselves? it seemed like the ending was inevitable in a way that was contradictory to their huge power and million year plot
