I'm reading that Forrest Whitley is still dealing with arm soreness which may be why the Astros went out to get Odorizzi

Whitley is never going to reach the majors because he’s an absolute injury factory. It’s practically an art form with him.

Shoulda traded him a) when they had the chance and b) when the FO still pretended to give a poo poo.

I think I'll be avoiding the ballpark this year

Given how conservative baseball fans tend to skew, there’s no way in hell ballparks are going to be even performatively safe this year. It’ll just be 40k seats full of dicknoses and “I’m holding this beer, therefore I can sit here without my mask on in case I decide to take a drink”.

If you obliterate a bird with a small sphere made of leather and cork by complete accident in a freak occurrence not seen since, you owe it to the tortured ghost of that bird to talk about the incident at any given opportunity.

Plenty of guys have won Cys and Game 7s, but only one tallboy has exploded a dove.

That Correa number is laughably low, but an actual hearty lol at the McCullers deal, given how the latter is just as much of a glass cannon as the former.

If the Astros rotation wasn’t in such a godawful state right now there’s no way someone like McCullers would have gotten a five year extension. Maybe two or three.

Man I'm sure enjoying watching Astros fans fall over themselves to explain why 6/120 is a great offer for Correa and if anything it's overpaying him

20m/year is laughable and the Astros should rightfully be tarred and feathered for such a lowball, but I do think a 6 year extension for a guy with Correa’s injury history is a bit foolish. They should have offered a 3-4 year deal with an actual proper salary.

The last ASG was packed and people were all over Cleveland. It largely exists in the same place as baseball generally, it isn't a huge cultural event but it is still a big thing for the league and the host city. If the players actually got them to pull it, it would be huge.

I didn’t go to the actual 2019 ASG, but I was there visiting family the week beforehand so I went to the Exhibition thing they set up. It was surprisingly decent! Got to see a bunch of Jackie Robinson stuff from the HOF and meet some of the surviving Rockford Peaches.

Disney buffets are boring and gross (except for Boma because it’s just an awesome sampler of African cuisine) because they’re the default spots for families with kids.

The good Disney food is always at the temporary Epcot festival stands or Casey’s because it’s just variations of hot dogs and the place is themed like a 1920s baseball stadium.
