I don't know why the "single-player" part of this game's summary didn't stick in my mind, I literally thought it was multiplayer instead. :psyduck:

gently caress it, I'm in. I'm looking for something with an intriguing and compelling story/mystery to sink my teeth into after BD2 was a disappointment story-wise.

Does this game go in weird and unexpected places, have lots of twists 'n turns, etc.? That's the kinda poo poo I'm looking for.

What exactly should I be using the end-of-day visits for? Aside from being able to level, I can kinda just go say hi to someone and thatís about it.

Hmm, got it. I definitely picked up on getting skills, at least.

It seems like sometimes attacking someone as a Gnosia doesnít work, and it just says ďno one was attacked last nightĒ. Why does that happen? So I have to choose the same target as the other Gnosia?

I think Iím too stupid for this game. :negative: 99% of the time I have no real idea who could possibly be good or bad, especially with no clues to work off of. Iíve done multiple games now where I get ganged up on by two Gnosia and an AC picking off the rest of the party without me being able to tell whoís who.

This feels extremely random. Is there a way to tell what the gently caress is going on?

Okay then, how about this. Game began, Comet accused Remnan and like literally everyone defended him, then like four people agreed that Comet was sus, then Comet accused Sha-Ming, the same thing happened, then Comet got like six guess what it was NINE votes and froze.

This was the beginning of the game. We didnít even have time for anyone to lie. Way I see it, everyone ganging up on Comet is more suspicious than Cometís accusations. What the gently caress happened?

Comet not only was human, but correctly identified Remnan as a Bug.

Another thing that helps a lot is to play as Gnosia and to remove the AC and Bug. This way you know exactly who is on what team and can start learning how everyone behaves. Doing this for 10 or so games will really get you into the flow of how different people act, and a lot of the events require you to be Gnosia anyway, so it's not like you're not advancing the story by doing so.

Thanks, Iíll try that out. 5 people, me Gnosia, Eng+Doctor. Iíve picked up on a couple things: Raqio and Setsu can immediately tell when someoneís lying about claiming a role, cause they always put down definite human when they come forward. Thatís good to know, means I canít claim a role as Gnosia when theyíre in game.

Not sure what else to watch out for. Iím really only seeing the typical group dynamics, not much else thatís unique to characters.

Also wow 5/1 as Gnosia is real fuckin hard. Iíve lost more on this setup than anything else.

I won a 15/3 as Crew with everyone enabled and I have no idea now. Yuriko carried my rear end.

You're not supposed to play as Gnosia to level up. You're supposed to play as AC follower, because that's the "hardest" role to succeed in and thus gives the most exp.

5 people: 1 Gnosia (not you), 1 engineer, 1 doctor, 1 AC follower (you), 1 normal human. I actually posted this before, let me see....

this does limit your character pool somewhat though and Setsu is always a part, so it's purely good for stats and not so good for learning characters.

edit: now that i think about it, i do like how they took the time to build story justification for Setsu to always be part of the crew, aside from "Setsu is the player's companion gameplay-wise". A loop without Setsu just couldn't exist.

Cause I think itís kinda pointless to thoroughly learn characters aside from Comet being bad at lying, Shigemichi always claiming to be a role heís not, and Kukrushka and Yuriko amassing a meat shield of followers. Most of the game takes place by figuring out whoís sympathetic to who, and then using the Engineer/Doctor reports to figure out which roles are fake, then correlating that with voting records and discussions.

Okay, well, lemme think a little bit.

Gnosia are more likely to Doubt, Cover, etc. unpromoted since they donít have to worry about getting killed for voicing an opinion or pissing off the wrong people.

Theyíll also defend each other, unless theyíre Sha-Ming I guess.

If youíre Gnosia, is it better to immediately claim a role to muddy the waters from the start, or wait until someone brings it up?

Also, should I always waste the real Eng/Doctor if possible? And if so, does that mean if I see this happen, the surviving role is fake?

Edit: Also also, is there any downside to immediately Doubting the fake role of someone claims it but youíre the real one?

Good to know, Iíll use this stuff later on.

Something I learned about Yuriko is that she never claims to be human, even if she isnít Gnosia or a Bug. So that at least is unreliable for her.

I just saw Yuriko answer that she was ďhuman, unfortunatelyď so gently caress me I guess.

Well, 153 loops in, I finally got some sort of ending. Iím sure thereís more endings to find, and Iím unsure whether I want to try and figure them out on my own or look up a first step. But this was good! Even though Iím total crap at this type of game.

Ending spoilers: I suspect the fact that you can pan left and right at the title screen will be important.

Yup goooooooot it! My dumb rear end figured ďoh, I bet I have to name myself Setsu :v:Ē and thatís how I found the lead.

Ending spoilers: That makes sense, though itís a little hard to specify the exact thing you need to do - the natural reaction to the ending is ďwhat no Setsu come backĒ and the most straightforward way is to load up the game again, set the game rules up properly, and try to make something different happen. But that just does the ending again, so you try a new loop and talking to Setsu, and that doesnít do anything either. So youíre like, the gently caress am I supposed to do now?

Iíll keep this light on spoilers, but I think the simplest way to sum up what you need to do to find the second ending is ďFollow SetsuĒ. What would have helped the game devs get players to find the second ending is emphasizing that - cause you need some sort of lead to bite. The idea that Setsuís key still needs to discover something plays into it, but thereís no clue what the key is missing or that you even can fill it. And the way you do is impossible to see coming. More signposting would have helped.

And Iím done! Really good game!!!!
