Did something happen over the last few months to bring Travis McElroy to the attention of people who don't listen to podcasts? Is it just the Twitch thing that's drawing all the weirdness?

I think the twitch thing just happened in very close proximity to his "I'm not bisexual, but" tweets, and a lot of the existing Travis haters amplified it.

I was skeptical of Karen when she first showed up in the Polygon videos because her energy didn't initially match what the others had. But then she recognized Pat's clue of "the lady who jerked off a dolphin" in the fake artist game on Overboard, and I knew everything would be okay

Oh gently caress, I went back and watched the dolphin part, and I had it backwards. Karen drew it and Pat recognized it. This goes to show that Karen actually rules and I don't give her enough credit.

Griffin created her, and decided on Lup being her whole name instead of it being a nickname for Chalupa after fans told him about the hispanic headcanon stuff. I think her being a trans woman was Justin's idea, though.

wasn't the main reason people started getting mad at travis for performative wokeness recently the embarrassing among us monologue where he started talking about how the other players shouldn't be playing like bad people(goofing around in game) with all that's wrong in the world these days

The recent dustup is this and the "I bet you're surprised I'm not bi" tweets, but people have had a problem with Travis for a while. He's targeted for the boys' general inclusiveness because he's more publicly doing stuff outside of their McElroy brand, and a good deal of it is inclusive by design. So him supporting those things separate from his brothers makes him performative, I guess.

I hate D&D as a product and WotC as a company, and Graduation just marinates in 5E in a truly miserable way. So I have a lot of affection for Amnesty, even with its very real flaws.

(Yes, I listen to Rude Tales. The differences are that 1) Rude Tales is not fannishly fawning over D&D-as-Cultural-Iconography, and 2) Rude Tales is loving excellent)

One of the best things about Dragon Friends is that, even though it's built on a 5e framework and WotC occasionally provides materials for them, nobody but Dave gives a poo poo about the system. Even though they're still orbiting the Strahd storylines, they also just don't follow the story except by accident, and rename characters things like Rimjob.

If it's the same company that advertises on HRR, then the ad copy is usually pretty careful about not making medical claims. They just say that it's helpful in calming you down and maybe even helping you sleep. The problem with the mall storefront was that it was making medicinal claims right on the window, including, IIRC, cancer treatment.

It's no better or worse than any other network, I think. They just specialize in conversation podcasts that have some loose premise draped over them.

Speaking of podcast networks, Season 3 of TWIOAT was pretty drat funny in that episodes would regularly have a standard edited-in-by-the-hosts ad ala moneyzone, but also a network-injected ad for Hello Fresh, and also a different auto-injected ad at the start and end. By funny I mean tiresome, except for one time when an auto-injected ad started immediately after one of them said something like "Ok, here's my American accent impression,"

When bigsofttitty.png first went to the Sanspants network, whichever one was editing would purposefully put a network ad break in the middle of the other one's sentences. The ads were also set regionally, so some people would get ads for Subway ava KFC, and others would get recruitment ads for the Australian armed forces and casinos.

Anyway, here's a donation plea from PFT from this week's SPY
