I think the UFC thread is small enough that I can put MMDJ getting knocked out in ONE here:

ONE has different weight cutting rules, so all their named classes are approximately one above the normal numbers and you have to walk around near that weight the entire camp.

To be clear, they claim this, but nobody is allowed to independently verify it.

I watched a bit of it, and it has some recounting of the weird poo poo he does, which is kind of entertaining, but it’s really just a guy summarizing his social media and career, so it’s not great.

Taking away mid level fighters' ability to make decent money on endorsements and replacing that ad space with ill-fitting incredibly boring shorts is imo hands down the shittiest thing in mma, a sport full of lovely things. I think I've paid for like 2 ppvs since then. I used to get every one but I can't justify spending money that's not going to go to the fighters anyway.

The only thing he did today was really aggressively complain about being kicked in the balls, but recently he insisted Till was faking injury to duck him (https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2021/4/8/22374280/ufc-abc-2-vegas-23-darren-till-responds-marvin-vettori-injury-fake-punch-bag-mma-news), he was generally a shithead to Karl Roberson (who, to be fair, missed weight both times the fight was meant to happen) and I've seen multiple MMA journalists over the last year editorialize that they don't like him which I find very funny

I'm going to need to see a clip of Vettori's reaction to getting kicked in the balls again, that was legit one of the funniest things I've seen in mma

I hope you get crushed to death by a fat guy trying to commit suicide by falling out of a window and when the paramedics answer the local bystander asking if you'll live, he just says "fat chance" and laughs.

So this is a really weird one, it seems that Jimmy Flick just retired from MMA at an event of one of the orgs he came up in:

https://www.facebook.com/cornerandcasual/videos/753128182059560

Sorry for facebook but I don't see the full video anywhere else.

Tapology says he's got a fight lined up against Francisco Figueiredo though, may 8th, so we'll probably hear something official from the UFC by then.

This: https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2021/01/ufc-257-dustin-poirier-conor-mcgregor-team-charity-donation-the-good-fight-foundation

quote:

ABU DHABI – Conor McGregor is following through on his word to donate half a million dollars to Dustin Poirier’s charity.

When the matchup between McGregor (22-4 MMA, 10-2 UFC) and Poirier (26-6 MMA, 18-5 UFC) started to materialize in late 2020, “The Notorious” said he would put forth a hefty sum to The Good Fight Foundation, a charity run by Poirier and his wife, Jolie.

In November, Poirier told MMA Junkie he expected McGregor, who he rematches in Saturday’s UFC 257 headliner, to follow through on his word and help him move toward his goal of building a gym to help underprivileged youth train combat sports.

As fight night draws near, Poirier revealed at the UFC 257 pre-fight news conference on Thursday that McGregor’s side had contacted his team to move forward.

“I don’t want to make it seem like we’re up here giving each other back massages but Conor, I just want to clear the air: Conor’s team, McGregor Sport & Entertainment, did reach out to my foundation and they are starting the process toward that donation,” Poirier said. “So Conor, man-to-man, you’re going to help a lot of people with that.”

McGregor Sports & Entertainment CEO Alan Geraghty subsequently confirmed Poirier’s comments to MMA Junkie, and said he’d reached out to Poirier’s wife to start the process of transferring the funds, which will total $500,000 U.S. dollars.
