I agree, but watching that trailer the voicework made Nagatoro seem WAY more sadistic than I was getting out of the manga. I was definitely interpreting it closer to Takagi-san than like, Prison School. Hopefully things cool off a bit as the story progresses.

Nagatoro still good though.

You know it was originally a porno where she literally kicks and punches the guy right.

First episode of Megalobox 2 was pretty good! It didn't give me chills quite like the first episode of the first season did and starts in a pretty miserable place for our protagonist but I'm interested! Great soundtrack and sound design too, almost distractingly so

quote:

The web manga centers around Bojji, a deaf, powerless prince who cannot even wield a children's sword. As the firstborn son, he strives hard and dreams of becoming the world's greatest king. However, people mutter about him behind his back as "a good-for-nothing prince" and "no way he can be king."

Bojji is able to make his first ever friend, "Kage" (shadow) — a literal shadow on the ground who somehow understands Bojji well. (Kage is a survivor of the Kage assassin clan that was all but wiped out. No longer a killer, Kage now makes ends meet by stealing.) The story follows Bojji's coming-of-age as he meets various people in his life, starting with his fateful encounter with Kage.

Sounds like the premiere feels anime of the fall

It looks like the early stuff in the story is drawn, which will make for an awkward series where halfway through it's suddenly cgi

Cestus was very underwhelming and my expectations were low. I'd be excited for the cgi portions because they look more interesting than the immensely boring 2d stuff, if I were going to watch any more episodes. Well, hopefully boxing bros will enjoy it and it gets enough views to bring the manga over since I would gladly buy it in English!

The fact that they exist mainly to shill toys undermines any message they try to have that could possibly be antiwar. The toys must be cool and therefor even its bleakest portrayals of war are cool. In the end they are a part of Japan’s military industrial complex and I can not morally support the gundam series

This is why Takahashi is so based because his marketable shows are about the political economical utility of war as means to ideological ends, and the underlying thoughts and experiences behind those ideologies

Unsure what the situation of the world is in Nomad...seems like Japan owns america, or at least the american southwest? since japanese guys are the ones evicting mexican immigrants and all. or osaka is now the same as the american southwest and america is so bad that people are going over to japan now? really it just seems like the director wanted to include mexican inspired locales

I watched through what was out of Cestvs and it’s by the company that does the insane body proportion 3d characters so everyone is like hyper detailed big heads that barely animate and it sorta looks cool and the story is decently entertaining but uh did they do a hyper content skip? There’s traumatic flashbacks in this last ep that I’m pretty sure weren’t in the show and also seem uh idk I mean the character is literally using them to explain his actions it seems insane that the show didn’t show that.

lol I was wondering about this. The Emden stuff happens just past the halfway point of the manga lol. So they skipped like 70 chapters of content or something. Absolutely wild
