hbag posted:what i am doing is this is not relevant to the problem, git will not let you just blindly overwrite changes from elsewhere with push, so you need to pull and get all the changes merged together (likely automatic, otherwise a bit of hand-editing). the only other alternative is really nasty repo surgery or just recreating the repo with the new code, neither of which you should be doing.

you could just grab the name out of the profile page. seems a lot of effort for people who want to show off never having done anything wrong in their lives, but then adding actual ui to do it seems a worse kind of effort.

keep in mind though that as useful as that would be in theory there is a lot of room to create a lot of serious security issues along the way. might not be a very pleasant project to guess and experiment ones way through.

svg is pretty cool, but as with a lot of web standards stuff it is starting to look like it will never get updated to fill some of its gaps, the only changes being made in the svg wg is now and then removing features https://librearts.org/2018/05/gradient-meshes-and-hatching-to-be-removed-from-svg-2-0/ tl;dr: both google and mozilla has turned real passive after the browser wars effectively ended.
