It's time to have a talk about sports betting https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/college-basketball-players-point-shaving-fixing-games-fbi-scandal/ quote:Federal prosecutors charged 20 people, including several former college basketball players, in an alleged point-shaving scheme, according to an indictment obtained by CBS News. The indictment states that more than 39 college basketball players on at least 17 Division I teams "fixed and attempted to fix" over 29 games.

Who could have predicted this would happen?

I have seen an earnest “actually legalized betting is good because it’s making it easier to find the people rigging games” take and it made me roll my eyes so hard that I had to lie down

i am declaring WAR on fred hoiberg and the university of nebraska-lincoln huskmen. this means they will only beat the lovely-rear end northwestern team who can't get a loving rebound to save their life by 25 instead of 50.

I love these comebacks by Kentucky, but I really wish they would stop digging themselves into early holes to make it necessary.

Purdue started down 22-8 at USC, got only 2 points combined between Loyer and Kaufmann-Renn, still up 6 at the half. And a 9-2 run to give it back up. PotatoJudge fucked around with this message at 00:17 on Jan 18, 2026 |

Everyone except Smith & Cluff were off, officiating was a mess for both sides so no one could get a rhythm, but Purdue survives and plays UCLA who has to travel back from a loss at Ohio State today. Really though they haven't had a good game since @Wisconsin on the 3rd. They built 20+ point leads against Penn St & Washington, and had trouble putting Iowa away. All 3 of those at home were a lucky break.
