The only one I really remember is one of the spin-offs that was like a normal novel's length about the backstory of Prince Whatshishooves who gave them their powers in the first place.

People talk a lot about the Animorphs body horror content being absolutely buck-wild in the text alongside the famous covers.

But I mainly just remember the series ending with everyone throwing their traumatized selves back into a second doomed war, and presumably their deaths.

I am going to guess Vic's outfit was also an homage to finale. They are going to go full Squid Game (I mean, not full, no deaths obvi), but with some stupid crazy prize that gets everyone riled up.

It's gonna be to host Game Changer. Only, psych, it's another game.

Not to mention the main kid commits genocide in the second-to-last book. It owns, Animorphs owns

I’m very close to the end of my first ever full D20 campaign, A Starstruck Odyssey, and it’s been so good. I’m so happy I have so much of this to catch up on. I also have no idea how they’re going to finish the story of this season in the 1 hour 45 mins or so I have left of the finale. But I can’t wait to find out!!!! Not sure currently what I’ll do next, whether I’ll begin on the Fantasy High canon or do some of the side quests I like the idea of, like Mice and Murder and Never Stop Blowing Up. Please feel free to give your recommendations!

I'd probably go with a side quest, but I don't think either of those are their best. Mice and Murder struggles with a cast that doesn't fully gel with the game, for obvious but unfortunate reasons, and Never Stop peaks really early and drags on. They've both got great moments though.

Mentopolis is a very strong happy medium between both campaigns, though I'm a big fan of Dungeons and Drag Queens too.

I'm still taking that as the theory, even though we now know why it's there (to serve as the "exit" for contestants and be next to the new comedy club area.

but there is still this eerie interview

i think you're just wrong tbh and worrying over nothing

that interview is clearly teasing that game changer stuff would be happening outside the studio, and the stuff in the premiere is exactly in that bucket

I think they said 10 episodes this season, and Behind the Scenes is usually the Monday after an episode.

Is there a playlist for the second season of fantasy high on the dropout YouTube?

Searching for it on YouTube I see one on the dimension 20 YouTube but not in the main channel where I've got the subscription. Maybe I just need to swap to the actual app sooner than expected I guess

Yeah it's super weird. I could find the one on the Dimension20 channel with no issue, but it doesn't appear to exist on dropout where I subscribed lol

I'll just have to swap it over to the app I suppose

Ok I like the logo and background projections for Mentopolis so I’ll probably check that one out next. I do wanna try Mice and Murder to see how someone like Grant deals with a tabletop RPG, but I get how it could potentially end up being more frustrating than amusing.

i do think pretty much* every season of d20 is very watchable and if you end up having choice paralysis I'd just start from season 1 and work through chronologically. you'd think something like d20 would have growing pains but it's incredibly well put together from the top and I still remember getting blown away by the production

*skip shriek week, it's fairly rear end and the dm gabe hicks was much more interested in badly setting up romances than having a coherent campaign. plus years after the fact it turned out he was a serial cheater and harassed a bunch of people so there's even less reason to try to push through watching it

I can also highly recommend last night's Um Actually. Just a fantastic melding of gameplay and contestant chemistry and competitiveness

I also laughed multiple times whenever Izzy got very upset with Krystina vamping for minutes on end when buzzing in to try and talk out the answer, and knew Ify won't say poo poo cuz it's exactly what he used to do before he was the host

The concept of the token kick on Conrad every day after the kid put up his notice was hilarious. And the whole usage of Stacy Fakename by everybody, along with the Fix's facts as an intimidation technique. That series is gold.
