Fox is probably the best character bit he's probably ever done. Which is really funny considering the voice is extremely neutral.

NGL I'm not enjoying the entirely avoidable dumpster fire that is Kirstine, especially how much Ally is leaning into it... but that's ok - it is creating conflict that will drive the story.

I'm really keen to see the fallout after the next battle - Kirstine will probably be godless (again), Fabians house will be loving ruined and Adaine will likely lose the job.

Also there is something petty about not being able to take home strudel from the strudel dimension.

After Mentopolis i want Trapp in every non IH season of D20. He's so smooth at getting constant character jokes in or setting up jokes for others.

Agreed, and he was so wholesome in Escape from the Bloodkeep.

It's a recurring thing where the US will try to adapt a British (or Australian or something else) show that's entertaining because most of the contestants are stand-up comedians plying their skills to the camera, and then skip the comedians and just have a bunch of generic famous people on and it's painfully unwatchable and then it fails.

Yeah I recall an Australian show about an amoral lawyer being adapted and the end result was... bleh. The adaptation wanted the protagonist (an amoral lawyer and trainwreak of a human being) to be "more likeable", so they were watered down and had the edges sanded off. The end result was somebody who was forgettable and it didn't last past the first season - contrast to the original where the protagonist is clearly an absolute piece of poo poo but is charismatic enough to get away with it.

He's lovable, like an old friend you just can't seem to abandon in spite of their awful behaviour.

Also helped that the Australian lead is a theatre actor who (like many Australian theatre actors) takes screen roles to subtitle their passion - so he'd "ask a mate" to do him a favour and then they've got Hugo Weaving or Cate Blanchette for an episode or two.

I think that was the platonic ideal of a gamechanger episode. Clever, funny, with all of the cast supporting each other. A+.

Yeah love to see it :)

EDIT: Was a bit sad about the answer to the Queen of Pop - I mean fair (and Madonna was the first queen crowned) but it was also a clear reminder about how goddamn backward America is... yes I am salty that the True Queen (and Madonnas natural successor) never took off in the USA owing to some piss poor efforts by her record label in the early 2000's slash that phase America was going through where ya'll really LOVED your Pop Icons to be train wreaks.

I also like Kylie but that happened 20 years ago let it go.
Sorry, I just can't get her out of my head.

Also, based off your name, American Cultural Imperialism has blinded you to the fact that she's dominated the International pop scene for the last 30 years :colbert:

At least the US Patient Office agrees; Kylie Jenner tried to trademark the name Kylie in the USA, which resulted in this gem:

quote:

Minogue’s lawyers sent a scathing letter to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office which argued that, by contrast, Minogue is “an internationally-renowned performing artist, humanitarian and breast cancer activist known worldwide simply as ‘Kylie’.” It then reportedly described Jenner as “a secondary reality television personality”.

I'm not going to be gaslit into believing that Kylie was dominating the pop scene in her Impossible Princess era!!

(I'm Canadian, but the very first online purchase I made was I begged my mom to let me import Fever off amazon dot co dot uk because I loved Light Years so much and Fever came out 5 months later in North America than in the rest of the world. God, I watched the olympics opening ceremony because I knew she would be performing)

She was topping the singles charts in the late 80s... just not in North America. Her first album in '88 topped the UK charts and sold more copies there in that release than I think she ever did in North America for all her albums combined.

It was mostly mismanagement by her label at the time; case in point Fever releasing in the US half a year after the rest of the world in the LimeWire Era.

Frankly, you've gaslight yourself into thinking she is not relevant and you're missing out.

I didn’t recognise him, but I don’t think Adult Swim aired here in Australia, and I didn’t watch South Park, and wouldn’t have known he was associated with either if not for the thread. The big reveal was kind of a nothingburger for me as a result.

Same here - occasionally Adult Swim shows would air on SBS between the sex and soccer but Tim and Eric wasn't one of them as far as I recall.

My biggest critique of D20 is that I think some of the D&D combats drag out a bit. Brennan likes to do big fights where the players often have extra allies so it's a lot of turns to get through a single round.

I play in a pub and last night it closed after just two rounds of combat... it had been three hours.

Granted it was an epic fight end of arc fight with a lot of moving parts, and after we moved venues from the third round onward it went pretty quickly (as more bodies hit the floor).

Mentopolis also has a stellar cast with Trapp, Siobhan, Alex Song-Xia, Danielle Radford, Freddie Wong, and Hank Green. It and Bloodkeep are my two favorites.
I'd put Bloodkeep up there one of their best. Never Stop Blowing Up was also good value.

But my favourite has to be A Court of Fey and Flowers which has largely informed my two PC's (a husband and wife Eladrin) in a game that's been going on two years now.

He's a Chaotic Entitled Prince Consort who did a runner and she's the Lawful Genocidal Queen of the Winter Court out to drag his rear end back to court.

It's been wild.
