Well, at least until Theseus disposed of him. Procrustean can be used to describe instances in which something is rigidly adapted to a framework or set of rules while mutilating the essence. One could say that an office worker who already completed all the tasks for the day, but must remain seated at their desk until eight hours expire was on a metaphorical procrustean bed.
