Let's say you could domesticate a kangaroo, like, one of the larger ones so they weren't aggressive.

I have seen them, yea.
This is now actually a semi-serious question that I might expect an actual australian to know the answer to - when white settlers first came to the continent and saw Kangaroos is there any documented experiences of them meeting the fauna (specifically roos in this case) and not just describing them but being like "Ok seriously what the gently caress is THIS now lol look at this loving thing? What do we do with that?"
