Definitely not first game, but I'm keen to try out the United Tribes in New Zealand. This thread on the Paradox forums has made me wanna see how the situation can better be reflected with modding down the line, but New Zealand is a really interesting case study in this time period for getting into the complexity of interactions between a great power and Indigenous peoples.

I'm definitely interested in trying out the UT, though my hot take is that having the UT with low executive functions/administrative capacity & flavor events is/will be better that having lots of smaller tags. Estimates for pre-Pākehā Māori population vary from 100,000 to 200,000, so using the rule of roughly one quarter of those being usable pops leaves you with a ceiling of around 50,000 pops to play around amongst all the Māori tags. I'm looking with interest at the north Canadian tags to see how viable such underpopulated tags can be going forward. The more fertile grounds for mods in my mind would be representation of Te Rohe Pōtae and the Kīngitanga - more indepth political dynamics between indigenous subjects, the local colonial administration and the metropole would really play to viccy's strengths.
