Playing as Venezuela, at some point about 25% of the workforce emigrated away. I eased discrimination laws and now people are flooding in, doubling the population, bankrupting me from welfare payments.

I'm playing Germany and have high infamy or whatever. Italy decides that they need to lose a war to me. They get France and Austria to join them but after I capitulate both of those I have no way to get to them. I can't invade because they have a navy(more on this in the next paragraph!) so I have to white peace them and their war mongering goes unpunished. A little later Spain decides they also need to lose a war and despite having no way to get to Germany they declare war. They pile 200 battalions into the island off Cameroon where my 15 battalions can hold them off forever. Meanwhile my invasion fleet of 20 battleships with destroyer escorts get turned around by a Spanish fleet of 40 man-o-wars. Cool.
