harden is def on track to be mvp next year . he’s at another level than almost everyone else and I don’t think Durant will ever play close to 70% of games in a season again

the nets are interesting to see if they can hold it together and stay healthy for longer than 5 minutes at a time. they could put on a show next year and challenge the old bulls teams as greatest ever

Yeah i'd be curious too, I remember reading articles about how Harden has a huge ego. The nets have easily the best roster this year and it's going to be funny to see if the egos manage to get them a championship ring.

as a sconnie I didn't pay attention to the bucks much until recently because they were bad, but now Giannis has made them good and I've jumped on the bandwagon. my favorite kind of Giannis play is the 1 dribble from half court dunk. This is one of the finer examples of this move, which he has done a surprising amount of times. also being a johnny come lately to the game has left me open to understanding the gather step while my grandpa and stepdad still cry about traveling all the drat time.

Has embiid recovered his foot yet? I can't wait until he finally gets on the court for the first time, I feel like it's been years since we drafted him and he's yet to play.

as funny as it would have been for the bucks if giannis had left because their FO seems fairly incompetent it's good when small market teams keep their superstars

I’m going to have to look at it more closely but it appears an mvp finalist just did not make the playoffs

I don’t know if there has ever been a bigger fraud in the nba

euphronius
Feb 18, 2009

yes it’s as I suspected

the stats obsessed people have held up Stephen Curry as an mvp and he could not even lead his team to the playoffs

there has never been a larger indictment against the modern era of fantasy stats obsession than this

all the best players have huge egos

harden is the only one of the big 3 on the nets who hasn’t won a ring so I’d suspect he will be the most motivated and selfless to make it work

this is not just a problem in basketball by the way

baseball has long been plagued by people addicted to the simulacrum of stats and “analysis” . I was one too once

for example many people are under the mistaken impression that mike trout is one of the most valuable players in baseball !! he is not

older people are addicted to stats and “analytics”. they are stuck in their old conservative ways and unable or unwilling to accept new ways of seeing sports that focuses on actual value in real life. they can’t get off their phones to see who actually wins the games

did you see that last shot attempt by draymond in the grizzlies game? he has zero ability to score anymore and without durant/klay teams key on curry like nobody's business. gsw with curry sitting on the bench was maybe the worst offensive team in the entire nba this year

that said curry is a lousy defender and made some inexcusable turnovers in the grizzlies game
