Am I the only one hung up on how hosed it is that people’s souls can just get deleted from existence entirely? Like God or some cosmic force can just go “Sorry, no afterlife for you! You stop existing now, and gently caress anyone who ever loved you!” and poof, you’re gone for eternity for whatever passing bullshit reason? I mean it’s good that this lady got a happy ending, but what if her daughter didn’t? What if YOUR OWN FAMILY didn’t?

The shades of greek myth eventually faded away, only the chosen of elysium got to live forever in an undying land. Previously, the afterlife of ancient egypt was only available to the most wealthy and powerful and required worship to maintain.

Another of Fujimoto's assistants on Fire Punch was actually a veteran before his editor sent him to work with Fujimoto. I think he's currently doing some manga about spies or something. Might be worth a look.

The fact that the Author is a huge fan of Ultraman makes for some neat references (The arm pose the aliens use to deploy the Awesome Zone being the one used by Ultraman Taro. The aliens also are modeled after Dada). I think I've warmed up to the new girl now that she's not just a load so I guess nearly dying was worth the love triangle she brought with her.

Sometimes they’re posted within a day or two of the raws, sometimes they take a week or longer. Also there’s been several different crews scanning them and the thread hasn’t reached a real concensus on which one(s) to link to. Hopefully now that there’s an official English release, the above stuff won’t be a problem anymore and we’ll get more regular updates.

Other than the creature referencing an ABBA song I got nothing. Since it's with the aliens it's probably a cryptid although them having manufactured it might mean something else as we don't know about Shin Loch Nessy or the Flatworm alien.
