thebardyspoon posted:It's odd that the US gets all these kinds of things and over here, the best you get is maybe trying to get tickets to go see the live tapings but that's basically a lottery, I've entered a bunch and never got the offer. I guess you can also go see the guests own shows as well but like, it feels weird they never do a Taskmaster thing in the UK. As someone who has been trying to get tickets for a taping and is willing to fly to the UK and book a stay to go see one I was stoked when they said they'd begin selling tickets to the TV version because I thought I might have an actual chance. But it seems like for whatever reason they send the emails out in chunks so by the time I got it, the tickets are already gone for something like a half an hour. So I get your frustration. That said, this live show seems like a cool experience, but it also feels somewhat like a consolation prize to me compared to an actual taping. To get tickets you still have to fight a massive amount of crowds all trying to buy tickets at the same time, plus because it's not done through a TV station, but rather the magic of Ticketmaster, there are scalpers you're competing with as well. (I see some tickets available for over 1000 bucks at the moment) Live tasks are generally fun, but don't really compare to the edited sections and prize tasks in my opinion and this seems like it's advertising that at least in some part the show will feature multiple live tasks done by audience members. Also, for whatever reason it's only reasonably available to the eastern half of the US and I'm extremely salty about that. If it was coming to Vegas or California or Phoenix or even Denver maybe I could justify going, but to picture how far I'd have to travel just to get to the closest show imagine if they filmed Taskmaster in Greece. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it will be just as good as the show. But it really doesn't seem like it will offer anything better than the show unless you happen to be selected to be on stage (and I imagine that will be done somewhat randomly so the chances seem nearly impossible)
