I'd rather have a jojo dynasty warriors clone tbh, or just a straight up castlevania clone for phantom blood, though phantom blood could probably make for a decent yakuza-fotns style game, same with diamond is unbreakable, jojolion, and maybe stone ocean since those are all mostly centered around a smaller location or series of locations very close together.

A Diamond is Unbreakable Yakuza would be legit awesome; hell, a few of the arcs in that already feel like Yakuza substories (Let's Go Eat Some Italian Food in particular)

Yeah I'm not as pacifistic as some of you but I don't like competitive multiplayer civ because you tend to just like, lock your friends out of having fun

Like in a lot of competitive games if I kill someone they'll respawning, or the round will end in like a few minutes and they can get back to playing. Civ if I take out someone early it's gonna be hours before the game's over. Not much better if I take over some cities and leave because they'll pretty much be permanently crippled for the rest of the game.

I still like GameFAQs because ctrl-f'ing through a document is way quicker than skimming a youtube video.

Plus like, GameFAQs guys tend to be pretty thorough, one FAQ can often be an entire encyclopedia about the game

Quest 64 may be boring but the speedrun is kinda cool because there's a weird exploit where you can trigger the level-up box while you're dying and just...repeatedly level up like 30 times before you die for real

They basically just do that as soon as possible and then blitz through the game with your big big spells

I got a tabletop rpg rulebook in the mail. It's about a world where a tiny area became influenced by a magical crystal that caused all of the local bugs and bug-adjacent creatures to develop longer lifespans and become more human-like and develop a combined culture and society in the city they've built around this crystal.

It is not Hollow Knight related at all and also the art in it is cute and nice and cool. The game is called Cuticorium. Though I will say that some of the pictures have so many additions to the bugs that I can't even tell what the original bug was supposed to be.

More than anything, "Bugs become sentient due to the effects of a crystal" is the exact setting of Bug Fables

Adventure 2 has the dark and light stories, the chao garden, permanent additions to the lore (for better or for worse)...

Sonic 06 has a chaos emerald that only exists in a perfect time loop

Also Silver gets kicked in the head by Shadow and honestly he deserves it

Speaking of mechs, saw that they invented a MechWarrior 5 today. Anyone played it, any good? I watched one video of it and it looked exactly how I remember Ghost Bear Legacy looking then I watched a video of Ghost Bear Legacy and it looked so much worse. Don't got a joystick and don't plan on buying one, is it still the kind of thing that will suck without one?

I've been playing Mechwarrior 5 and having a blast honestly. I'm playing in co-op so I know I'm avoiding the terrible squad AI, but the game just feels generally solid. I think most people's complaints on it have to do with a general lack of customization compared to previous MechWarriors, and I can't really comment on that, having not played them. I personallly feel like there's a pretty wide range of mechs and a lot of room to customize them.

Playing with mouse and keyboard too, and honestly it feels fine.

my two big problems with it were that way too many battles end with your opponent just getting back up for a round two where you need to get twice as many KOs, and that unless you are winning every battle without getting hit at all then it takes way too long to grind up a reasonable amount of skill points for emerl so early battles where you play as him are brutal. otherwise i liked it quite a bit! the mechanics are pretty cool once you get a handle on them, the writing is a lot of fun (and manages to feel in-character unlike other dialogue-heavy game sonic chronicles), and i love the aesthetic. shadow especially has some great animations

IIRC in the first chapter there's a fight against Knuckles you have to do that's just awful. You've got like, maybe one working special move and a bunch of lovely normals. First time I played the game I only beat it because I figured out that Emerl Shoot actually does decent damage if you hit him with your body, even though you don't actually shoot a projectile.

I do think the game was really fun though. Customizing Emerl was a great time, even if the grind to get there was a bit much and the ultimate moves were maybe a bit too good.

If anything I also find Sekiro's parry to be ridiculously lenient. Partially because if you mistime it, you're not going to eat poo poo, you just do a normal block. In other From games I tend to avoid parries because a failed parry can easily be the death of you. In Sekiro, you just take a bit of posture damage, which is super easy to recover.
