Not exactly a mystery why people want more guns. Obviously some players drift to the meta weapons, but I like trying different guns and unlocking things for them and then doing gun waifu dress up. I don't have a single gun over 600 kills but I have all guns at 100 kills or more. I finally managed to get the explosive bolts unlocked for the GHOSTMAKER and it's pretty funny tagging someone, they pop behind cover thinking they're safe for now, then they explode a second later. They do piss all to vehicles though.

I'm a dipshit who pre-ordered the middle edition and then stopped playing quite early on. I've been having fun in it since s1. The exodus rotation is a nice change of pace too once you're bored with the new s1 map, but I wish they had breakthrough on those portal maps. Overall I'm pretty fine with where the game is, my main issues are that it's lacking atmosphere (the og maps look like cardboard too), and I wish there were more vehicles allowed. Oh and the population is pretty dire in my region (SEA).

The first nerf on the 50mm was fine, it wasn't OP then. You had to have good aim and a good pilot to reliably take out armor or another transport. Now it's just completely useless. They over-nerfed it.

Yeah it'd have been great if they didn't crater their own playerbase by releasing the game half a year to a year early. I guess some earning goal needed to be met so a bunch of suits could get fat bonuses or something.

I used to always tell somebody great shot if they made one, like a good rpg to air shot or a great grenade throw. Chatting about the game was fun. But in my region of play, SEA, gen chat in recent years is always just a diarrhea waterfall of anti and pro China poo poo with way too much racism going on. Usually in multiple languages too since a ton of countries join into the same servers for the old games due to low player bases. Even team chat in 2042 gets like this, it's super boring. The moment a hacker joins the server you know it's about to kick off. I basically always had chat window to hide during BFV because it was always this poo poo. Wasn't so bad during bf3/bf4 heydey where more real chat went on, but the playerbase were so huge in those games that really you had Singaporean servers, Taiwanese servers, Chinese servers, etc. The playerbase even supported multiple dedicated Hong Kong servers that were always full, and since Frostbite is so poo poo with any latency over say 75ms (probably less), people always tried to join their regional server. Perhaps that was why. Or Gamers just did less political trolling back then and more just standard racism, I dunno. Definitely been a marked shift in the type of trolling, I don't recall ever seeing "ccp" typed into gen chat during prime bf4 days. There was still lots of racism back then. Always racism. The Gamer Constant.

Yeah I used to use the AK in single shot mode all the time, along with the SFAR. Just find it easier to handle that way. Shame about that. Buff to air by taking out AA is going to cancel out whatever buff the ground vehicles get from having fewer launchers. Gonna be a bit of a balancing nightmare there, I assume. So in S2 we are getting 2 reworked maps + 1 new map all at the same time? Or are they going to dripfeed us the maps along with dedicated playlists for them? I'm assuming the latter.

Merry go round is like a Battlefield staple. But yes with the huge map sizes defending against back caps is pretty boring. Great players can absolutely still have an outsized effect in cq, but I find that in breakthrough the effect is lessened as it requires teams to actually push a point, and hey, maybe the mega sweat got stuck with 31 people who are all role-playing future Pvt. Jackson. Hell they're probably too young to even have watched that movie. Oh god

It is fun when you suddenly find yourself in a small battle to pop down the mini gun and surprise muthafucka the other COWPAT when they pop out of cover. But i can't say I've found great utility for the mini gun deployable yet. In choke points you'll get exploded by something, or beamed through the window. Harassing the stealth chopper means you're out in the open and likely to get sniped from the side. Accuracy sucks for anything past short to mid range.

New map is indeed pretty meh, and plays much better in cq than bt, but I don't really enjoy cq anymore so... It's not quite the player base invigorator exposure was.

Frontlines was the best and I had one really great loving match on Hamada that just went on forever and finally getting the win was amazing. Had to take a god drat shower afterward. Only time I enjoyed BFV, or so I thought until I checked how many hours I'd played it... nah, pacific maps were pretty fun actually and I enjoyed Mercury for how it looked. Frontlines was great in BF1, too, and the best way to play Sinai. Guess I'd better hop into 2042 this weekend to unlock whatever new weapons / vehicles I need to on the battlepass because it's probably easier than trying the portal challenges. The double xp thing you can unlock will make it easier.

Some of the best breakthrough maps happen when you're on D and you manage to stop a squad of sweats. That only really happens when the rest of the attacking team sucks rear end though but I've done it a handful of times and it's always great. They've got like 4 people with clantags like 55-7 and yet we still stopped them at C or whatever because half of their team was still sniping from spawn.

It used to have splash damage but they nerfed that around the start of s3 I think. I racked up absurd kills as defender on the final stage of Exposure BT just splashing into the moshpit of people piling up in that front room of the capture zone where you c4 the wall. Back then nobody was using aps yet. It was like 3 kills per rocket type of fun. Always funny to get a sniper though and still is. Getting direct hits with the sticky nade legit makes me cackle. It's silly and fun and I spend entire maps just trying to get direct hits with it. Reminds me of nailing snipers at like 250m or whatever with the recoiless back when getting distance markers was easier (pre dorito spotting). That was always good for a true lol

It's butt ugly, too. Just piles of mud and puke and poo poo. Just no variation to the colour palette. I definitely drew a covert dick on my b-log emblem and I think even that got reset after a while. I kind of miss a decent urban map. As much as maps like Seine, Bazaar or Pearl Market could turn into single lane clusters, just the different aesthetic and interesting cover options I find myself missing. Weaving in and out of buildings and stairwells and jumping across roofs in Pearl just isn't a style of play at all present in 2042. Hell, I wasn't the biggest fan of Propaganda (dislike snowy aesthetic), but even something like that would be one of the top maps in this game and you could lift it 1:1 and make a pretty drat intuitive breakthrough path.
