What was it that made BFV so bad anyway? I only played a for a few hours on EA's sub service but it felt kinda off the whole time.

Infantry level AA in BF4 being ineffective against planes never really felt important because they could never reliably target infantry; any effort you made to attack air in BF4 was more about doing a favour to your team'ss tanks and helis. When the air in BF1 became able to endlessly strafe infantry, especially on some of the more cramped maps, the lack of effective infantry AA became a lot more frustrating.

Maybe I'm being a grog but I'm a bit worried about the end of classes. It seems to me that everyone will just gravitate to two or three loadouts that are clearly the most optimal; vehicle play is going to be a pain with everyone carrying RPGs.

Just discovered that vehicles have a boost button in bf4. This is a revolution in c4 jeep strategy. Thinking about getting the discounted premium, but the thought of going through the incredibly tedious unlock grind is off putting.

Zzulu posted:I hate having to unlock so many weapons, especially nowadays when I have way less time for games. It's gonna take me months to get certain stuff You mean you don't want to play through the entirety of BF4's world beating campaign to unlock the P90?!

BF1 is great, but on certain maps, and especially on the operations game mode, attack planes can be more oppressive to infantry then any of the air in BF4 was.

Inspector Hound posted:You will have to pry a bolt action into my cold dead hands. I'm better with DMRs than I was expecting but I still basically need a drum of bullets to spray at each guy I see Bolt actions have a very cool mechanic in BF1 where they have an optimal range, where shooting anyone in the chest is a OHK.

Insert name here posted:I fail to see how everyone carrying rockets and never having ammo is somehow different from your average BF4 match Weapons being tied to class meant that you'd get at least some variety from people messing around with other weapons.

I was always a big fan of the smg 08/18, which was essentially a sawn off belt fed lmg. The weird nature of weapons in bf1 gave it some of the most distinct and best class balance in the series; it really feels like every class has a range or situation that they excell at (outside of some dlc weapons messing with it a bit). It was weird coming back to bf4 where shotguns, carbines, and dmrs being all class means that any class can perform well at any range, along with a lot more guns working as a jack of all trades.

Alehkhs posted:New playable specialist "unredacted" with this as well: Kimble "Irish" Graves It sorta cracks me up when they bring out a character from an old game that didn't make much of an impression with a lot of Fanfare. Were there a lot of die hard Irish stans hyped to see this news?

Battlebit is great buit it sucks that it doesn't have shotguns and probably never will because the dev team has problems with them.
