It sounds like people are saying the game will be bots that are regular soldiers and the players will be the specialists, as if the game is a hero shooter. That would be wierd for battlefield. Maybe that is just one mode.

I reinstalled BF4 again because other people were into it. BF4 doesn't hold up as well as my nostalgia does.

Philman

BF4 was built around battlelog so you need to do that stuff on the battlelog website. the UI you see today was added way after BF1 was launched because they stopped using battlelog to launch the game.

yeah, that would be my single biggest issue too. the movement feels slow compared to how quickly you die. I feel like you can rotate quickly but cant move forwards, backwards, and laterally, as quickly as in newer games. there are also all the little movement improvements they made between BF4->BFV that are missing which you wouldn't notice if you didn't ever have them.

Between Sinai and Suez I want to know who hit their head on the DICE level design team. Like Sinai has this giant cluster of caps in the north but in the south (which is like 2/3rds of the size of the map) has a single solitary point all the way at the bottom?

The guy who made Suez hit his head.

Sinai is great. It's got the traditional U shape and the point in the desert has a special kit and gives your team a plane so it's far out but has rewards for taking it. Also you can flank from that to the point closest to the enemies main base.

Suez is a lame linear map where each team only gets 1 vehicle and the train can't even cap points. If you try to flank you get sniped from a window. How boring.

Philman

They should stop making maps with one vehicle each, it's bad.

Headshot challenges are very easy with all guns. Just flank some snipers, then get them from behind, they don't even move.

Gunplay is pretty drat solid near and TTK is almost exactly as it was at launch save for a few guns

Medics being given short-midrange weapons works IMO since they're supposed to be in the thick of it tossing smokes, medpacks, and reviving. BF1 felt off at times to be using a long ranged rifle that could 3 shot people at any range

This was one of their better changes. medics should revive people on the point, not people hanging back.

Philman

Personally, I did not play battlefield for the gunplay until bc2. I mostly played for the mayham. Now the gunplay is better than alot of, if not most other games.

I tried a demo for one of the recent cods an wasn't impressed. Insurgency sandstorm has pretty tight gunplay, it's worth checking out before 2042 comes out.

There are alot of people who play the battlefield games for the shooting only. Which has lead to too many infantry only maps. it's surprising hardline wasn't more popular with that crowd because there weren't many vehicles, it even had a counterstrike mode.

it's a champ of a CPU but time moves on. DOOM is just the exception to the rule. I think you'll be at sub 60 FPS with 2042. I wouldn't completely write it off as unplayable.

Later in BFV's lifecycle they added a setting to lower the amount of processor intensive objects. lowering that might help. Future frame rendering and G-sync can make a big difference to how smooth the game feels too.

The rest of the map is a tunnel choke point that a tank and his repair squad camp. You can take a chopper over it but you just get blown up as soon as you go over the mountain. The cliff jump in rush is great but the map is painful otherwise.

Glitch music can be good, Glitchmob is good. There was that one song in bf3 which had a good break at about a minute and the theme really released which was cool.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRN62IebC04

But the glitch sounds in that even went on too long and didn't really feel melodic in any way. That's how I think this new soundtrack sounds, too much glitch, too little melody. Bf4 was similar to this, so I guess they are trying to continue the musical theme by making it more degraded and mechanical thru the 3 games. Listening to this on crappy speakers would make it unbearable, you wouldn't hear any of the detail.
