Balancing gameplay around 10+ unique classes sounds difficult. Splitting the traditional load out choices into rigid classes under the guise of more options would be lazy. Iím sorry if my comment during this afternoon of speculation and shitposting upset you.

After watching that JackFrags video it sounds like the classes will actually be unique and there are some neat ideas, although Iím not thrilled about snipers having a proximity warning system. My concern is the additional complexity to a series that has really struggled with gameplay balance. But hey, you donít know until you try. Another poster pointed out Apex Legends has handled it well, so maybe itíll work out and be fun.

Given how :dice: works out it's going to start of unbalanced as gently caress but I love :synpa:

Roll isnt a complex control or thing to get your head around for planes. You can literally set up your keybinds so that you're controlling Pitch/Roll/Yaw/Throttle with only one hand on your KB. Momentum being dictated by pitch orientation is kinda what makes helicopters helicopters. BF helos arent even that complex compared to other games. Like others are saying, the biggest barrier has been not having a place to practice or not being able to progress with vehicle unlocks without getting stomped by more experienced players.

Hold up here... are you actually recommending we use a mouse and keyboard over a Xbox Controller with PC Battlefield?

I don't know if it's just me but I found nearly every AA gun incredibly weak in the game with the exception of Battlefield 1.

It's like shooting nerf balls at planes and infantry.

The BF4 AA was very serviceable. The BF1 AA was outranged by every aircraft, and the ones on foot were sniper bait and can be destroyed.

BFV AA would be killed by any airplane even if you landed every single shot on the approaching aircraft and in fact most could fly straight and level over you and survive to go repair up out of bounds.

BF4 AA was okay when the game first came out but was eventually nerfed into near uselessness with the exception of helicopters.

Nah BF4 AA works wonders on pretty much anything that isnít a wunderkind with JDAMs. They certainly nerfed its sniper capabilities with the 30mm and I think the Zuni rocketsí damage also got reduced against tanks but against something in the air itís still good. And even if you find it hard to hit stuff with the cannon, or even if you can, you can equip the passive radar missiles and really make jets mad.

Infantry AA did never worked on jets though thatís for sure.

Interesting, maybe I'll have to pick it up again but that's not my memory.

I really, really, really want them to bring back the obliteration game mode. That was so much fun.

Yea... That's my concern too... I want to see actual live non-scripted gameplay. If it doesn't work out there's always squad.

Going back to BF4 lately was honestly pretty rough, despite it 'only' being eight years old now, the fidelity of just how shooters feel has come a long, long way. Plus how dudes kinda skate around while sprinting and for some reason the scale kinda feels like it's off, somehow? It's not bad by any means but it's clearly from the before times.

This is one my biggest complaints with modern games ever since they added stuff like sliding mechanics. I think that's fine but I feel like I'm playing UT2k4 not an actual military-ish shooter.

Yea, that is a little odd too but I feel that players move way too quickly in modern FPS games these. It's still a video game but they're taking it to an extreme.

I also don't know about 128 players. I've been playing a bit of BF4 again lately and 64 players is already too much in that game, imo. I've had WAY more fun in 32 player modes.

Having 64-Goons vs. 64 Pubbies sounds like a ton of fun.
