I'm pleased to announce that the loss of waffleimages a decade ago will no longer be felt nearly as harshly. Upon hearing of waffleimages' impending closure those ten years ago, forums hero Scuttle_SE heeded R1CH's call for someone to accept the most complete copy available, maintaining it all this time.

SA has obtained a copy of this mirror, and those images are now hosted under the wi.somethingawful.com subdomain. A BBCode parser rule has been added to rewrite old waffleimages links, so waffleimages in old threads will mostly Just Work. It is, unfortunately, not a complete archive—waffleimages was, by nature, a distributed image host; sometimes mirrors went down without warning, leading to irrecoverable data loss. However, we now have 326 gigabytes made up of 2,586,980 waffleimages (approximately 3/4 of the 3.5 million original image total), and that's something.

Thank you, Scuttle_SE, R1CH, and everyone else who made waffleimages the best image host for the forums, 2006–2011.
