Along with that - about regional pricing: There's two good tips to keep in mind, in my experience. The first is *region* stuff - this *definitely* applies to Europe, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it applying to NA, for example. In the case of Europe, there's such a clusterfuck of economic agreements and treaties and open trade stuff that even though not everyone uses the Euro - if you're in Europe, you can probably gift without exchange-rate worries, even if the currency differences are wild. The second is *continental* stuff - sending from NA to EU to Isreal to AU/NZ, etc. This is where pain and suffering enters the picture. Use SteamDB, set your currency, sort by converted price, and then find the giftee's currency - it'll tell you the converted price and percentage difference. The cutoff is *around* 10%, but I'd swear without evidence that it can float around, higher or lower, depending on precise title. Now, if the giftee's price is *lower* than yours, you're probably good to go - Steam seems totally fine with huge 30% differentials, so long as they are on the money-making side of the equation. If the giftee's price is *higher*, then you're probably going to want to either take a look at other games on the wishlist, or use a tool like Is There Any Deal to see if you can pick up a steam key from something like Humble (who often runs sales in parallel with Steam). It's advisable that if you are thinking of a ride, and the last poster isn't from your region, you may want to take a quick look at the top handful of items on their wishlist and see if there's something that works before hopping on. There's a reason why the train sometimes hits a speedbump during region-transitions between riders
