I dunno why this is probably a dumb take but The Open's a strong #2 major for me after The Masters. I don't know why but the prestige associated with it is pretty awesome and unique.

That's not a hot take at all, TBH. We don't get to see many (if any) links courses on the PGA Tour aside from the Open and maybe the Ryder Cup depending on where it's at. It's also almost guaranteed to have at least a couple bad weather days to make things interesting. Augusta's got its own mystique, even for all the (very legitimate) problems associated with it, it's still fuckin' Augusta.
