And glad to help a little, though maybe you don't want to be immortalizing my reaction of 'aaaaa all these ellipses' in response to the dialogue/monologue with Frostnova in the table of contents. (in the description for 6-12/6-13) And it's fair if you still pick the silent (dumbass) option at times, it's mostly sequences like Kal'Tsit asking for input repeatedly here and the talk with Frostnova I just mentioned where it's just too much for me.

I really don't understand what they're going for with Rosmontis. How did they expect to make both 'this child is supposed to be terrifying' and 'she did nothing wrong' fly with anyone?

Ah, it's fine. Just me being a little over self-conscious.

I guess I can understand that being treated as inhuman even by other Infected is exploration of the writing theme, sure. But like you say, it's the attempt to (i can't seem to come up with the right word, whitewashing?) that feels so off, because Amiya exists.

Now that I'm playing the event, Skadi feels more compelling for me as a 'hated by many as a monster, still recognizably human' but I guess that's not the same thing. I should probably just come to terms with this is a commercial video game where children doing a violence is treated with caution.

I love Mr. Fishman. They managed to pull off writing 'sincerity because he straight up does not know what lying is' and it didn't feel fake or laughable.

And while Gladiia is super rude about it, I do like that in her position as captain, she's taken to a very Camus-style 'the human condition is some real bullshit but there's still meaning in it anyway'.

Oh yeah also I really want to know what the deal is with the God/geneozoic? But that's obviously intentional on the part of the writers. I sort of gather that it's a bid for territory control by the Aegir by genociding the Sea Terrors but how did the Abyssal Hunters join the Aegir if they are descended from the Sea Terrors and I don't know if I should be making a moral judgment with the framework of 'this is familial violence and this is not okay' or 'man gently caress the ocean'.

Ah, that would make sense. I took the bishop's constant use of 'mixed-breed' more literally because the derogatory terms I'd expect thrown at human experimentation survivors to be more like 'imitations' and I missed the line "How many of our own kind have these things killed, these mixed-breeds brought about by �gir?" which certainly implies a lot in the second half of the sentence

Do have to wonder how much of "Just because your brothers swam for the shallow seas, you no longer recognize them as your brothers." is literal though

Going from Chico Tequila to Chico Anejo Tequila's sticker description made me laugh more than it probably should have.

No idea what Swire has against mint ice cream. I guess it doesn't go well with lemon, but that only applies for her order and not Hoshi's, so :shrug:

edit: okay, this doesn't work if you assume they're both in their twenties and she's actually bothered by the teasing, which I guess is a fair read since she doesn't like being called a klutz, but /I/ was reading it as, like, a 24-year-old dude poking fun at his 16-year-old little sister, you know?

I don't have much to say about this one. It's not really something that leaves questions that I want answers for (besides "Lin Yuhsia when?") Dossoles will remain a monument to capitalism. poo poo still stinks.

Like, my favorite moment in the whole thing is Hoshi and Swire just popping up behind Ch'en and Yuh'sia and them feeling like it's the most natural thing in the world, but there's not really anything there. It's trite, even. Popcorn to go with the action movie. Ch'en's continued development is nice, but also too small to discuss.

Having started playing the game, my perspective /has/ changed from "sure, I want to see what weird designs show up in EX stages" to "man, I hated holding lanes against these assholes but I want the material profit" and the resulting exhaustion. So yeah, I get it feeling like a chore, albeit from a slightly different angle.

also, just having the real world being a huge-rear end distraction in general, that doesn't help
