Yeah Lakers best lineup was AD at center and Bucks big change this year was that they were willing to go to a switch everything D to shake things up that effectively made Giannis the center even if it was nominally Portis. Those aren't necessarily small lineups since those are very large people but it's not playing with a traditional center either

I think that Adams working out a shot a la Marc Gasol is the new ideal for the "standard" big, a shooting threat for spacing on offense and a modern defensive player who can protect the rim and ideally defend some perimeter players. obviously that "standard" is pretty high and I dunno how many players clear it. But then again in 2010 mainstream pundits were actually talking up the elite play of Kendrick Perkins so I guess having a bar at all is a nice upgrade

So doing a Simmons+assests-for-Beal trade and a Westbrook-for-Kuzma/Schroder puts DC on a "Mediocre young team with a bunch of movable contracts" path. Arguably better than where they are now. I get the impression DC would rather be that than crater out after next year (THE DAVIS BERTRAN TEAM).

I'd be real interested in the 76ers pick that are out around 2024 or so.

I really wish that Hachimura went to any other non-Kings team. I wanted him to develop into a decent player and the Wizards won't let something like that happen

Chris Bosh on offense and Anthony Davis on defense is literally just Anthony Davis, but for some reason Bosh has become in new KG in that any tall skinny guy who can dribble without falling over gets comped to him.

That said I do think Mobley is the best defensive prospect since Davis

Why can't they just say high post facilitator? Why does every player always need a comp?

Comps are easy and kinda fun. Players frequently fit within certain bounds of archetypes, and comps are a little less sterile way of conveying that.

I get that but Chris Bosh was not a static player. I say High Post Facilitator because I assumed they meant Heat Bosh, but I know he was much more of an interior scorer in Toronto. PNR into post up opportunities, using Bargs as spacing instead of being the spacing threat for James/Wade.

I didn't mean to come off grumpy there. I just think we've gotten so generic with comps they are neither descriptive nor interesting. Funny old old old comps are my favorite. Which player is the modern Clyde Frazier?

Where is he 6'6? Is that barefoot? He still has a 7' wingspan so I don't think it's going to matter much. He was probably always going to play Wing and the difference between SG and SF isn't really that significant.

The 2-3 distinction matters less than ever since so many teams are playing whatever offensive players they have over traditional height/etc. If he plays the 3 he's probably not even going to be a "small" 3 by modern NBA standards.

It all matters even less if he pans out as the PG

Yeah, I think Cade has the most value when you can use him NEXT to a smaller combo-guard type dude while Cade guards a (probably the easier of the two) wing. That seems more valuable to me than having him play/guard PG and then having to find two more quality wings to fill out your lineup. Cade will likely still be able to be the main handler/initiator even if you have someone like (for instance) Brogdan or Sexton or someone slotted in the 1.

This would be pretty dope too. Offensive/defensive versatility is the new hotness! He won't have to play too far down in the early stage of his career, because the Pistons have some ok-to-good wings.

Ulysses Grant was a celebrated equestrian, and could pull some zany feats like "hang sideways off a horse to put the horse between himself and sniper fire". So, while he would be quite short by basketball standards, I think some of that has to translate to not just raw athleticism, balance, and core strength, but also excellent situational awareness and court vision.

Grant could be Lincoln's point guard, is what I am saying.

Grant is more an Artest style drunk defensive wing who can do some ball handling. You'd need a Castro-level PG from the American presidency to really let them play even 4 out 1 in offensive sets.
