My wife teaches a science/research summer camp which involves basic analyses that can't be performed by Google Sheets (because its number crunching features are too neutered in comparison to Excel/Calc) and getting kids to understand "open the file", "well where is the file?", "do you know what folder you've been using?" is a whole Thing. its nice to amble around and hit the pen while somebody noodles on a delay pedal in my earholes

Another rec for this: The Dear Hunter. The main album series is a bunch of acts in a story. Act I is EP length and is a good place to dip your toes in to see if you're curious enough for the rest of them.

He has some non-Acts albums which are pretty different but still good in their own way.

I'm in this scenario with my boss, where we have a new product that, for contractual reasons, has to go out by end of year, and it's similar to previous products, in the sense that we need an SME contractor to help with design and implementation. Both previous products went way past their original timelines and the SMEs produced code that was mathematically accurate but fell over when we had to run the processes at the scale required to deliver something real.

Boss in the last week has given me multiple "the last one went a little slow, but this one seems a lot easier, I think it should go smoother." lmao. lol.

Yeah, there was also no way to make it financially make sense for us for that same reason. You pay a high premium for all that sleekness.

It felt like it's something that's aimed at big enterprise customers where they wanted to spend zero hours of engineering time on setup or maintenance and are cool with paying through the nose for it. But yeah, I don't know why to go with it over BigQuery for that specifically.

I've only known that frequent consumption is linked to poor diet quality and an increased risk of metabolic syndrome but it could have just been an overprotective mother.

I mean I feel like it's probably correlated with otherwise poor diet choices as well but not necessarily the specific cause of poor health. (Though pure fried carbs and bouillon are, obviously, not cornerstones of a well-balanced diet)
