bump_fn posted:is an alias in mac os like a summink iirc: alias points to a file or folder, so moving the file or folder will still work, and this is what you create in finder. symlink points to a location so if you symlink to a folder then move the folder the symlink won't point to the new location. you need to create these in terminal.

sorry to hear it, hopefully your cat's issues can be sorted quickly. i had a cat that was prone to UTIs and it sucked for everyone involved because she would just piss wherever when she got them :\ 16 yo means he's prob got some years left, fingers crossed. my 15 yo dog has skin growths/lumps that keep getting infected and she's also got a bad heart murmur. she's also not eating enough and is super picky now - she will only eat cooked pork, carrots, and oatmeal. thankfully she also eats her "nutritional gel" that has vitamins and minerals she needs. she actually dropped like 40% of her weight before we managed to land on food she would consistently eat now. because of her age, weight loss, and the heart murmur our vet won't do another lumpectomy (she's had two already) because he's afraid she'll die on the table so we just do our best to keep her clean and fed as long as she continues to have energy, isn't in pain, and tolerates us caring for her
