People stopped buying things and saved all their bitcoins and now suddenly everything is open so they are spending their saved bitcoins. The number of buttscoin is constant as satoshi pbuh always intended however inflation still happens because higher peak demand.

Yeah my understanding is a bunch of people who didn’t have money actually got money with the covid stimulus and a bunch of factories shut down due to covid and now all the people who now have money to spend and everything is backlogged due to the factories having shut down. And some ports have intermittently closed or been at reduced capacity, also due to covid.

Mons Hubris posted:Yeah my understanding is a bunch of people who didn’t have money actually got money with the covid stimulus That's part of it for sure but demand across all categories except for like deli and menswear was up even before the first round of stimulus. One of the cool things we can do now since we've had three rounds of stimulus is predict what sales increase we will see from any given amount of helicopter money from the gov. Last round the finance group just sent out a excel sheet that detailed by product class by week the stimulus check income for the chain. Marketing research is pretty illuminating too. Household savings have increased for the median customer ($50-60k a year household income) even as people spend more in stores. Interestingly enough, store foot traffic is flat to pre covid levels; people are just spending more per trip.

also i reject the idea that everyone has to be a Cook everyone should know hot to make enough basics to sustain themselves should they need to, but tbh i've got depression and there are times i barely have enough energy to even keep myself going, if I gotta pay someone to make me food i'm totally ok with this i spent years just starving myself all day bc 'i've got food around, i just need to stop being lazy and make it!' and i tell you what, now i've got what is commonly referred to as 'an eating disorder', so, ya know Food Good, however you get it in you! \/\/\/\/ this is starting to feel like a conspiracy StrangersInTheNight fucked around with this message at 00:03 on Aug 17, 2021 |

StrangersInTheNight posted:seriously how is an eighth still the same price as it was when I started smoking???? Half the country is still black market. The recreational store nearest to me is $60/eighth after tax. The medical shops all over town are $15/eighth. There are two rec shops here (technically the next town west), they both charge black market rates. A medical card is $100~ and no one looks at medical records if you're over 30. Maybe you should move to a legal state and get a medical card. Buy any guns before getting a medical card, though. Having a medical card doesn't mean you're not on illegal drugs in the feds' eyes.

Right, now adjust for inflation Video games have gotten cheaper in real dollars every year while getting, if not better, certainly way more complex

They are absolutely cheaper. A $70 game today is equal to about $42 in 1998, when Ocarina of Time MSRP’ed for $70.

Hot tip for you introverts and recently desocialized: spend all your evenings cooking and learning to cook and grow a garden, and start canning, then you always have an excuse to not participate in social activities. For real though, I used to be 1000x more social than my introvert partner, but ever sense covid I just do not have the time of day for anyone anymore v🙂v

Made this tonight. I took some liberties with the recipe I found below but I think it turned out okay? https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/21021/zucchini-parmesan/ First I started with this gigantic zucchini. The recipe calls for two but I figured this big boy would do the trick. And it did! Computer games used to come with a manual, sometimes full colour comic book, maps, posters, scratch and sniff cards, etc. Video games didn't usually have a beefy manual, but at least came with a color booklet. Tutorials have gotten bigger, but manuals suck now. For a long while even if you bought the physical box in a store all you'd get is a quick start guide telling you to put the DVD in the DVD drive. If a manual exists at all it is a pdf you have to print out yourself.

It's not a hawaian. It's a peperoni with pineapple, jalapenos and liberal amounts of hot sauce. And it's great, the pineapple really works well with the other ingredients. In my mind, only the combo of pineapple and ham makes it a hawaian.
