Rewatched The Northman for the first time since the cinema. Thought it was good then too but appreciated it a bit more this time as I got the myth/epic poem setup going in as opposed to realising part way through. Great film but my least favourite Eggers film I think, and Skaarsgard performance is probably the weakest in the film which is a shame. He's not terrible or anything but he's not incredible while everyone else is.

my ma told me to watch Amanece Que No Es Poco which came up on TV. a bizarre raunchy spanish comedy from 89 where a dad and his son visit a religious town where they treat the bishop like a rockstar, theres a council of women where they hold elections on who the village whore, who the adulterers and who the butch girl will be for the year, dudes grow on soil sometimes, an argentinian plagiarizes fualkner which despite all of them being country bumpkins know faulkner and revere him so much that he is jailed, theres a guy who wants to switch characters with anyone else in the movie, and a black guy who walks in zigzag to have more time to think as he walks. also everyone is horny constantly, which i assume is the standard for spanish movies. it feels more like a sketch comedy loosely connected together and while theres a bunch of whiffs here and there when it hits its pretty good.

I got the tude now posted:this is one of the things i only know about from kojima's instagram It's the best movie of 2022 dude. Also I dunno how you can get bored bc it is like 3 hours long but it is on full steam most of the time.
