I’m tired all the time lol. I regularly fall asleep sitting up and in the weirdest positions and places. it’s possible for me to fall asleep standing too. it’s been a while since Ive fallen asleep in a public place or a party at least. my meds prolly play a big part in giving me ‘sleepy’ as a character trait

yeah it does make me feel super weird, but it's honestly the most effective way to short-circuit allergies i think (that does not make it good though)

problem is that i become even more useless than normal when on it, and not even a high dose. shaky hands, very cloudy thinking, incredibly shortened attention span, poo poo like that. i really wish there were a better alternative

there’s many better alternatives in the form of other antihistamines. hydroxyzine fucks with me much less than benedryl does. I’d rly love to try cyclizine some day but that’s more for junky reasons owing to its synergy with methadone. promethazine is pretty cool but you’ll def still have those side effects lol, but ppl respond differently to different drugs so it might be less bad. doxylamine is another you could try

for allergies one of my prescriptions is for beclomethasane which helps me a lot and doesn’t gently caress with me in the way antihistamines do

Have you talked to a doctor about narcolepsy? They've got really good meds for it these days.

maybe I should, I def tick all the boxes, like hypnagogic hallucinations, losing ability to speak, falling asleep from lack of stimulation &c. I used to assume it was just from my meds, which also cause me to nod out, tho I did notice that my fatigue issues got measurably worse after getting Covid(+pneumonia the first time around), so maybe there’s more at play

I mean whether or not you develop kidney stones is a body lottery, but that is one of the endgames of energy drink dependence

I’ve been sleeping so much recently. i think all I did yesterday was sleep. I think I’m sick, if not with something physically than sick of the head or spirit. some of it is depression and it’s rly annoying how my brain periodically wants to isolate and then kill me

OldAlias

it’s rly annoying as seeing ppl would help and the things that feel too hard to do rly aren’t actually, but I go through these mood phases where it’s like I’ve a hole in my head where all the serotonin leaks out to the ground around leaden boots, the fog sets in, the world becomes steadily smaller, and all I can muster is sleep

this sucks so much, that the hardest things to do with depression are the easy things to do that will help. wishing you the strength to do them anyway

p.s. holy gently caress i’m tired today, what was all that sleep even for????

thanks 💜 I ended up doing some of the stuff I was struggling with and managed to go over to my other gfs place for the night which was a good idea, I definitely feel buoyed some

just make sure to use boiled water so you don't get the brain eating amoeba

it’s p easy to make your own bacteriostatic water too, which is 0.9% benzyl alcohol / 99.1% distilled water. tho it’s prolly fine to just use the distilled water by itself for this as I don’t think pyrogens are much of a risk for nasal rinses
