I really hope this will lead to Punk and Colt solving their issues.

WWE has one main event guy on their entire roster.

AEW could have one in every match on every card against a younger guy who needs the exposure.

And they usually do.

WWE can't make new stars.

They bury them wiping out any thing special about them.

Punk is going to be in AEW for as long he wants to be and considering he's in a much more healthy mental and physical environment now, I think he'll be around for the foreseeable future.

He can do so many things he hasn't been able to do since leaving ROH

It doesn't really matter if CM Punk had great matches or amazing promos or memorable moments. Because he did. And so did hundreds of others before and after him. What makes Punk special is that he tapped in the frustration of wrestling fans with WWE. He was picked as basically the avatar of this feeling of what wrestling could be.

When he got signed to WWE there was hope that he'd break out and make it as a big star despite what happened to so many others. When he made it to the top and did the pipebomb promo it felt like for the first time someone was voicing the frustration we all felt. But he still didn't get treated like the big main eventer we wanted him to be and then the company beat him down during his time there and afterwards.

Him coming back tonight felt like the final turn in the story where you are proven right. You were right to believe in wrestling and people like Vince McMahon and all of his evil were wrong.

Sorry feeling philosophical tonight.

Nah man you are exactly right.

I just got home.

OMG.

As I said, I wasn't following wrestling during CM Punk's original runs so I just know the name and the stories and enough to know what he's talking about during the promo.

But,

I know when something big was happening and that entire speech was golden. I'm so glad I went, I'm so glad I could be in the building, I'm so glad I got ice cream... AEW is amazing!

How did the other matches play on TV? After Punk I was fairly exhausted.

Punk came off incredible. The audience was beyond amazing. The following matches were great stuff.

Feels like a lot of the old guard is doing this in AEW. Building the new generation. No, not THAT one.

I'm sure it's been said several times today but doesn't AJ Lee have a similar injury to Paige where it's literally too dangerous for her to even try wrestling again?

Twice in fact, you make three.

But if it's one thing I've learned watching wrestling you can never say never again.

First thing I did today when I got up was rewatch the whole CM Punk segment.

It still has me smiling like a crazy man.

Wrestling makes me so drat happy.

Oh and for those that had been asking about Hangman, he's going to be a father soon. That's why he has time off.

I don't believe they would ever give Dark Order a new leader, AEW seems intent to keep that as Brodies thing in memorial of him.

I could see them breaking apart and Bray making a new group.

From today's WOR.

One of the top ten markets mentioned was Chicago. Chicago did a 1.6 in 18-49 during the first half-hour, which will skew the average of the top ten. Compared to last week, Rampage was up 57% in households and 50% on 18-49. If this number correlates nationally (which it probably won't as Chicago is part of the top ten), this would be around 1.16 million, 1.6 in 18-49. Dave thinks the final number will be a little bit less than that, nationally.

0.46 is the overall demo from the top ten numbers.

The Dynamite number on Wednesday should be very interesting.
