Caught VOD of Sana's bread Holoscope stream. It was dumb, silly and cute, and I liked it a lot. It's also pretty clear that she is a big sci-fi fan, as she randomly began talking about harnessing the energy of a star, so that's neat. Also, her BGM is super good (but I'm not sure if it fits her vibe...). EDIT: goddamn, forgot the most important thing, I'm reliable Bagel.

weird, I wonder why they're trying to do twitch as well. they've got the overwhelming presence on youtube, seems like a bit of a waste of time to try and get in on the twitch landscape too. but I guess pekora has 142k followers on there already so what do I know

Twitch is a better streaming platform than Youtube and I wouldn't mind if all of Hololive moved over. At least when you're big and established.

From what I've seen, Miko uses Twitch for movie nights and other smaller things that her Youtube channel isn't fit for. I recall that she also used it to stream when Youtube was having technical difficulties. Holo mainly uses Twitch for watch parties, but they also started doing streams there when streamers were being demonetized and ran into issues for their concert streams. So it's mostly out of necessity and to maybe put some pressure on YouTube to stop sucking.

Having presence on multiple platforms is just common sense, even if one is your primary one. It's good to have a fall-back plan to be able to stream for your core fans if Youtbe has technical difficulties/it's algorithm has banned you again/some huge shitstorm is in progress/ etc.... And Twitch is big in the West, which is becoming more and more important audience for Hololive.

I will readily admit that Twitch is a better streaming platform in most ways, especially in moderation tools. However, on youtube almost nobody says any variation of "pog" so it remains hands down the correct solution. In non-cranky-boomer posting, have some Polka Classic back when she was streaming using a Texas Instruments graphic calculator, inexplicable pseudoscience networking and a dream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Etf5OsQHkhs I want more Polka zatsudan translations in my life, she's incredibly interesting and cool but I don't think it necessarily gets through very well in 1-minute clips.

Speaking of Polka, she just announced that not only is she releasing a new original song in a couple days, she will also be getting a new outfit around the same time (just after this week's episode of PolDen). This means there's a good chance the other 5th Gen members will be getting theirs soon too.

I won't be posting here anymore. I mostly lurked the thread so it's not much of a loss but I do want to say something about all the awful stuff that has happened, why I no longer feel comfortable posting here and so on. I no longer know what is considered acceptable in this thread or not, the rule is "don't be creepy" but by the standards of some of those who brought the moderators down on the last thread basically any discussion of vtubers counts as creepy. Whose standard are we supposed to be using here? For example what about ASMR? It seems like Fauna and Kronii will be doing ASMR streams in the future and plenty of other vtubers do ASMR right now, Noel and Okayu for instance. Is that subject acceptable? I sure as hell don't know, I don't even watch ASMR, I'm one of those people who doesn't get the whole ASMR thing but I have found discussion of the subject interesting to read about so it makes me sad to think that people aren't allowed to talk about it anymore. What about dirty jokes that the vtubers make? I mean, we seemingly already had that answered but apparently dirty jokes are now unacceptable on SA? If I went to whatever subforum you go to to discuss stand up comedy would I get in trouble for discussing dirty jokes made by a stand up comedian? I guess I would? I genuinely don't know but before this whole debacle I thought that dirty jokes were ok on SA but I don't know anymore. What if I post a stream reservation from a vtuber and later during said stream they say something over the line like a dirty joke? Would I get in trouble for that? I don't know. The atmosphere of this thread, at least for me, is now like walking on eggshells, I don't know what I can say or do or what will cause the belt to come off and get me, or possibly others in the thread punished, it's just deeply unpleasant here now and that makes me really sad because this thread used to be a refuge for me. I tried to bring this up with a mod, but so far they haven't responded, I don't know if they will or not but I've pretty much given up at this point. Sorry for talking to y'all, bye.
