II will be honest thanksgiving as a whole concept sounds a like a really weird celebration to non-US people. It's like Germany had a feast celebrating the first dinner they had at a concentration camp and called it "Thankscoming" or if us french had a feast celebrating the Saint Bartholomew's night and we called it "thanksdying". And probably an african thanksgiving. And a south east asian one. And probably some form of sugar feast celebrating Haiti.

Euros should have a holiday called "thanksstaying" because their great grand parents chose not to go to America.

It's everything but deep. I still wonder why you just loving don't find another reason to eat turkey with your familly and insist to still call it thanksgiving (to preserve boomer feelings i would guess). It's gravy and turkey day already, you can just use that instead.
But I also still don't know why you don't choose another famous Italian to celebrate on Columbus day. It's not like there are only 3. You even get a good female portrait by Di Vinci in Washington DC. :derp:
edit: vvvvvvvvv now that's sad. But is "gravy and turkey" day trademarked?
