i like photografy anyway i took this picture in york back in 2018 with a minolta i used to have shooting hp5+. I really like how this picture turned out especially since i don’t do a lot of portraits and this was snapped on the fly. i probably mostly shoot film—35mm and 120 but some digital too. ![]()

i keep all of my lenses in the clothes dryer and when i want to go take pictures i fire it up and grab one out at random. that’s the lens i have to use for the day.

nice setting. focus more on the winding path in the center there.

that’s definitely some improvement

can you get closer to the path? if you can stand right on it and shoot up its route you’ll get a neat perspective.

in the grand scheme of things it’s middling but for me it’s very good. when i took a black & white darkroom printing class a few years back i made big prints for our place and for my mom and dad.

it feels like there’s sweet fuckall to photograph around here. if i was less lazy I’m sure i could make something of what’s around here but it just seems so mundane.

I really like LR’s dehaze for bumping up contrast without making stuff look fake and over processed.

dude obviously has talent but a lot of people who shoot desert scenes do this thing where they wash out the colors even more than they are irl and i don’t it

echi, if you’ve already gone over this then i missed it, but what’s the widest you currently shoot? i often use a 35mm prime an a zoom that goes down to 24mm and i don’t recall much in the way of troubling distortion. if you’re shooting with a crop sensor then it’d be even less likely that you’d experience weird edge effects.

cool, 135 is a focal length i’ve never intentionally used (i.e. I’ve probably hit it with my 70-200 zoom).

sigma is legit. i have their mc-11 adapter and it works well with almost every EF mount lens i have, even lenses from other 3rd party manufacturers. the only one it doesn’t work great with is my ef 50mm 1.8 stm.

Beeftweeter posted:sigma has been great for a long time. i have some mid-80s sigma canon FD lenses that still perform well on MFT, but they're admittedly a bit slow compared to more modern options that’s cool. I’ve shot minolta SR mount stuff for a while now and I’ve seen so much third party garbage from the 70s that I usually won’t touch any of it. apparently vivitar’s one series used to be pretty good but I’ve only ever seen zooms from that lineup and i do primes only for film.
