i used to have a coworker who would talk a lot about the extremely modded minecraft server he ran to play with a couple friends. it involved all sorts of things like magic, alchemy, genetics, and breeding bees to have all sorts of supernatural effects. sounded nightmarishly complicated and exhausting. that lasted for a few months, and then they all moved on to a private ark: survival evolved server (also with a ton of mods) which sounded even worse.
