I don't wanna I don't wanna I don't wanna I don't wanna!!!

The original voice actors are 75 and 66 respectively, I think it's understandable.

It's been over 35 years since the old anime ended. I think it's a bit silly to imagine that they'd have all the VAs be able to come back or even be able to produce the sane voice after all that time.

Cheating helped me fail the test and stay on the show.
I thought that some fans tend to get a bit vocal whenever a VA doesn't reprised their role unless they're in retirement. I remember reading about a Kinnikuman game in Japan that bombed because Akira Kamiya didn't reprise him and they had Toshio Furukawa. Not to mention that they refuse to recast Banjou from Daitarn 3 in SRW, or any of Kamiya's main roles, causing stuff like Toei Getter, Raideen, Daimos, Dangaioh and 70's Gaiking to now being exiled from the series.

And for the record, I'm completely fine if they change the VA's if the original actors are too old. I was just saying that some fans are going to be vocal about the change

jojo part 5 was good, i'll give them rope on that basis

anyway yes they should've chosen a better VA than kamiya

Hardly "all the time". Although there's the usual rough drafts with pilot films, and a weird thing with the Fuma Conspiracy, the main Lupin cast held the role for decades, with a bit of a show every time the role got passed down, often to a hand-picked successor. They make a point of ending things on good terms, so the new VA can start without issue.

I think that's also part of why they had Hathaway's original VA get a cameo role in the new movie this year. Assuming the original VAs are active, you want to get their blessing when recasting. Helps avoid bad publicity and fan backlash.

Far as Lupin cast changes go, both Fujiko and Goemon had new VAs after Part 1 so at least early on they weren't afraid to change it up.

Fangz posted:

Yea. They could always surprise me and of course the material is so inherently strong on its own that I'm positive it won't be unwatchable, but considering the talent involved with the original anime those are some big shoes to fill!

Can't wait to here the people complaining about the characters getting new VAs

My only issue with it is that Kamiya as Moroboshi instantly brings to mind Araragi

That being said, I can't argue that it's bad cad casting

I'm busy, and I'm having fun.
I find Futsal Boys really funny as a poster child for the "We're Running Out Of Sports To Anime" genre, right along with Burning Kabaddi. It's probably going to be really dull.

Kinda curious about Tribe Nine, just because it's the latest weirdass thing out of Too Kyo Games, but the trailer didn't do much at all for me. Significantly uglier than Akudama Drive was.

the pv looking sus, the whole project having been delayed from last year, and the insane gimmick of having VAs do irl futsal matches that affect the story (probably just of the mobage rather than anime)

Exactly! I mean a forced repopulation plan like that would be incredibly scientific, with a likely rotation for Samples as to not tire out the donors and all of them going through multiple rounds of IVF to produce as many offspring as possible while also screening for genetic abnormalities and preventing a shallow gene pool.

The idea that these 5 men would just be raw-dogging random women is ludicrous!

There was an episode of Sliders where they did the exact same thing, just setting up our heroes to be raw dogging it every day. Admittedly somehow that universe had never invented IVF but you'd think that would be an impetus to try.

I wonder if the mangaka saw that episode. Did they get Sliders in Japan?

but in that show, the men were captured and treated as property by the state, so there was at least some downside.
