Just dont wake the wife, she's tired after that ridiculously long journey and...... well.... what the hell do you think happened when we go back home? patted cattes, opened presents, ate junk food IDK what else I might add more poo poo in here later

Clerks absolutely holds up in 2021. I have no idea about in 2022, though, as next year hasn’t come yet. This is still the year Betty White died.

I'd say I'm glad 2021 is over but it felt like a particularly lovely run-on from 2020. The ride never ends. Hope you lot are all good, Cat congrats on finally getting the wife over.

Man I wish I could swing that but right now is a really bad time (for mostly good reasons). I know how that goes, and with audio gear it can go real deep. I’m not quite twenty grand into my main system, but I’m definitely well over ten and probably have 20k worth of gear in total. Side note: buying/selling audio audio gear over the years has introduced me to some real weirdos, on par with Volvo weirdos.

Oh, I’m not that far into audio. I bought McStephenson’s FJ62. I’m sinking a lot of money into that right now; one parts order alone came out $8 more than the purchase prices of my other 3 Land Cruisers put together. Audio goes as deep as vehicles, though. Primary wire is primary wire until you mention the word audio. Then it’s gold-plated this and ground-loop that until you’re living in a padded room by choice.

Happy New Year, AI. I got woken up by my dog getting sick at 545 this morning. I'm assuming it's from some of the nachos I let her eat last night. She's still demanding belly rubs though. (This post might have been a thing excuse for posting dog pics)

Dog pics, you say? That picture is from yesterday; those light posts are 10 feet tall, and, as of today’s snowfall, I can no longer see the back one from where I was standing.

You'll have to pry my Maytag Dependable Care set out of my cold, dead hands. I like being able to fix my appliances myself.... and in 25 years they've needed <$200 in parts (combined). They may not be fancy, but they really keep going. 1957-2006 model run with few mechanical changes in that time, aside from the washer's transmission sometime in the 80s. ... the newer stuff is definitely more efficient though. So uh, it seems this PC is actually capable of running some games (limitation is the video card). What are you guys playing these days? I've stocked up on Forza 4 Horizon, Cyberpunk 2077 (again... runs a lot better after all the patches), and I'm waiting on Destiny 2 to download. PC platform only, have an Xbox controller hooked up, though with FPS games I prefer to use keyboard/mouse. randomidiot fucked around with this message at 08:33 on Jan 2, 2022 |

SnowRunner is included in Xbox Gamepass right now and is extremely fun off-roading action/a mud-fun sandbox well worth the price of admission. I play with winches, get stuck up to the windows in a river for half an hour, lots of fast-paced fun stuff: https://twitch.tv/videos/1250509944

Maytag are good, but if you are Aussie I highly recommend you run away from them as fast as you can. LG are best (don't buy connected gear, get separate washer/dryer), but Beko have a 5 year warranty and are VERY good about claims.

I was carrying around my beloved floof son like a toddler as i am wont to do (he meows at me until i do it pretty much daily) and something spooked me and he got stuck on my chest because he tried to retract a claw that was embedded in there. gotta say, did not know i had that much blood inside my body. fortunately he is very cute and got away with this agonizing crime against me

Some of the most fun I've had in MudRunner was trying to 1-star maps on Hardcore, especially the Deluge map. Fording a deep river in an old RWD truck dragging along a garage trailer was a bit of a trial. I did it though, probably one of the hardest achievements in the game. The C-256 is a beast in the right hands.

At least regular old flu has less risk of killing me than rona, but it still sucks. 8th day of sore throat, runny nose, no voice and headache. Only had a fever for the first 4 days tho.

Poor doggo was freaked out by the fireworks that various neighbors were fixing off until 4 AM. Be of the assumed fireworks actually turned out to be an under-construction townhome that blew up at about 2 AM, apparently, about 5 miles away. Installer left the gas on in the appliance they installed. No more townhome! Temp on Saturday here in DFW went from 70F at 1 PM to 22F by midnight. It started dropping noticeably at about 1, and just kept going. Something like 25 degrees in the first two hours. Plus wind! Gave the lawn one (hopefully) final mow for the season. I thought I’d done that a month or two ago, but the weather has been so warm lately it got shaggy again. Mowing in 50F weather… kinda nice, actually. Also threw the faucet covers on. I don’t need broken pipes, thanks. And we went and bathed the dog at a car wash that had one stall converted for pet bathing. Pretty neat, though not all the options on the machine were working. Typical carwash… Lot less mess that trying to do it in the bath tub. They’ve got a stainless steel shallow tub with ramp at a nice working height, the hanging spray nozzle with warm water, hanging vacuum, and hanging blower. You can get the doggo pretty dry before loading back into the car. Figured we needed to do that before the cold settled in, though the bay is enclosed, so we could probably use it any time it isn’t actually freezing. Edit: oh, also felt a lot better from the booster after sleeping like 6 hours on Friday afternoon. Was still a bit creaky on Saturday, but normal “I’m old” creaky. Felt well enough to mow the lawn without I’ll effect. Also had to take in the laser projectors and other Christmas lawn ornaments in order to mow, so I guess I started de-Christmas-ing. Booster for me was a sore arm and a day snuggling the dog on the couch. My wife's booster put her down for the count for two days last week, though. I had Moderna for all 3, and she was triple Pfizer.
