Yeah as much as I love me some DeMar I don't see how he beats one of Giannis, Steph, or Durant, and even then you've got Jokic playing perhaps even better than last year and LeBron going nuts in recent weeks.

Random aside but if Rudy Gobert played traditional superstar minutes (36+) he'd be averaging 18/17 with three blocks per game per game on 70% from the field, while taking almost as many shots per game from the free throw line as he does from the field (9 vs. 8). He's been stupidly good.

Steph, sure. Giannis is his direct competition. But the Nets and Lakers are too shorthanded to get the high spots associated with MVP.

The Lakers got rolled by the Spurs recently with no actual stars on their team. JVG said its time someone sat Russ down to talk about taking a Vince Carter role but no one is gonna do that
