TREND sounds good, it has a lot of that RSTLNE spice, plus a delicious vowel. Better than DIARY which I started with for some reason. Also, wheel of fortune sucks

Wordle 209 5/6 ⬛⬛⬛⬛🟨 ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛🟩🟨⬛⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I got kind of lucky with my fourth guess and it still took me around 5 minutes to think of that final letter on my 5th try.

Wordle 209 4/6 ⬜🟨🟨⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Last couple of plays i've used a strategy where I just use the same three words to start with (using all five vowels and ten different conconants) irrespective of what hits I get. It obviously makes it impossible to get the words quickly, but it seems to work okay so far, and today I nailed the word immediately with a bit of an educated guess. Also, it's possible to unofficially play through the archive of old puzzles here: https://www.devangthakkar.com/wordle_archive/ I've probably played through about 40 of them, and the only one that's tripped me up so far was due to American spelling a couple of days ago. FAVOR

I always start with "FART" and then turn the comp off because it doesn't work. I think "XYZZY" is actually a very informative word to start on.

Where does it say what number wordle it is? It's quite fun, but I don't see myself doing it forever. I've done 7 in a row, all in 4 or 5 guesses, never more or less. I want an elusive 3 guess. I feel like there's probably a technically correct starting word or two that covers all the most common letters. There's a bit of strategy in finding and using words with lots of unguessed letters even if you've found some already, but also reusing yellow letters to find where they go in the word. The hardest part is when there's two of the same letter or resisting the urge to look up good five letter words that use the letters you haven't guessed yet

Another good site that offers unlimited randomly generated Wordles with customizable letter counts: http://foldr.moe/hello-wordl/ I thought the higher letter count ones were impossible at first, but they become enjoyable pretty quickly. You can also play a daily version here where the random seed is just set to the current YYYYMMDD. The Bloop posted:What does it do with repeat letters? If the word was BUTTS and you guessed TRAIL, the T would be yellow. If you guess TOTAL, you'd have a yellow T in position 1 and a green T in position 3. If you guess TACIT, you'd have 2 yellow Ts. If you guess TITTY, the first T would be grey, and the second and third Ts would be green. YMB fucked around with this message at 14:47 on Jan 14, 2022 |

The Bloop posted:What does it do with repeat letters? There's no indication if you don't use the letter twice, no. If the word is BUTTS and you start with TABLE, it will highlight the T as yellow and you'd have no way of knowing that the word had two Ts. If you use the letter twice in the word, though, then it will treat the letters as normally, as if they were two different letters. If you try the word TITAN, for example, the first T will be yellow, the second will be green. If you try the word GREET, but the real word is TABLE, then only one of the Es will be shown as yellow, the other in grey.

Hey, I've played competitive scrabble (lol) since 2008, so I might be able to offer some tips to anyone having trouble. The first thing to think about is what are the most common letters in the alphabet, which are the letters in CANISTER. also it's most common to have 2 vowels 3 consonants or vice versa. What I would recommend is your first guess be something from CANISTER without the C (i.e. AEINRST i.e. RETINAS/RETSINA/etc.), for example RAISE/ANTES/ANISE/TEARS and so on after your first turn, in most situations, you want to try the next most common letters - even if the word doesn't have them, it tells you a ton of info, for example try CDL for consonants. if it looks like you will need another vowel, definitely O. at this point you should be in pretty good shape, given you a few suggestions.
