BrianRx posted:Furries still seem to be around, though less common now that more people are online and using social media. Bronies were everywhere for a moment, but I haven't seen one in years. Did they age out of their obsession (unlikely since grown adults still watch anime) or get absorbed by some other internet culture? I think I remember one mass shooter identifying as a Brony and it wouldn't surprise me if there was overlap between a subculture made up almost entirely of white males in the 15-25 age range and MRAs. If so, I would be very happy to learn that there was a My Little Pony to alt-right pipeline considering the importance of masculinity and intolerance of non-traditional lifestyles in the latter group, but does anyone actually know where they are? it was a counter-culture (though a very embarrassing one), and as is typical of counter-cultures, most of the people who actually drove the culture found what they were looking or grew out of it, and the rest of the culture just disintegrated.
