I have a secret, and it's that I love finding the most godawful embarrassing examples of bad local theatre on youtube. I live for this poo poo, I know all the deep cuts; it sustains me. Blacklick Valley - Empty Chairs at Empty Tables https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v61wLklkddk The GOAT, untouchable, everything about this performance is incredible. Marius wearing a beret and sounding like a choked mallard, the ABC Cafe all appearing as choir boys behind him, the baffling floor punch at the end. Simply amazing. This had disappeared off the internet for years, but a few heroes have re-uploaded most of the Blacklick Valley production of Les Mis for us all to see. Thank God. I've never seen that version, but this deserves a mention for how completely unrecognizable you can make a song from the original. All of Elle's sorority sisters being half her size and like 8 years old, the totally bizarre acting choices, Saleswoman #2 owning that poo poo, the horribly tacky dresses. Legendary. The dedication, the boldness, the audacity. Moeller High School - Summer Nights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKLz_XGX8DE Another provocative performance from a male lead who cannot hit a single note. The stage being lit like a horror movie, turning a 3-minute song into a 5-minute dirge, I love it. Those are some of my favorites, and while I could share more, I'd like to see some of yours! Give me your very worst examples of horrible theatre.

i would never even watch a youtube video of a good musical theater performance, and thus cannot contribute, but this is an astounding thing to be into and i wish you every success with the continuation of this thread. this is like the time a super-elite record dealer on my record collecting forum just suddenly pivoted to "SELL ME ALL YOUR DOGSHIT SPOKEN WORD/NEW AGE CASSETTES" and buying up lots of hundreds of like ram das lectures from 1992 and tapes like "unlocking your child's inner voice". to me it's a totally baffling thing to seek out and spend time on but i have to respect it for that very reason.

No recording, but I saw a community theatre version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame that didn't have bells chiming. Quazimodo is pulling on ropes to ... silence. I know the budget is nothing, but at the very least they could have cued up a gonging sound on YouTube and stuck a microphone against a phone.
