usb c spec is very confusing but also i can plug my macbook m1 into my huge monitor with kvm and it passes 4k 144hz video and also keyboard and mouse. WOW! my friend is an EE who makes computer things and circuit board designs and such and he qqs about usbc constantly. YOSPOS

i have a soldering iron that i usually use with a usb pd laptop charger. even though it's obviously sufficient, it still kind of freaks me out the kind of power that goes through those little tiny pins. it's 20v and not 5, but still. also glad it still has a barrel jack for a backup.

The wackest rear end poo poo to me is that -- if I did the math right -- the individual bits in a 10gbps cable are 3 centimeters apart. A 3 meter cable operating at maximum speed is storing about 1 kilobit of data in a delay line.
